Oh my god, you've nailed it. I just. This was literally the whole idea behind ITB, because everyone was saying "he got possessed by Elvis!" and then I was on Tumblr and saw the Austin!Elvis tag, and asked myself: What if he was really possessed by Elvis? Cue what's gonna be a 20+ chapter, 2-series saga of shit. Yes, I said 2-series. I already have the second one in my goddamn head. Lil cannon adjacent blurb for bringing this wonderful tweet to my attention:

It'd just been a quick interview, really. Austin had been on so many red carpets at this point it was a little hard to tell which screening he was at and where, only that he was in an admittedly very nice suit, and that Elvis was hovering over his shoulder. Normally he'd be in the body, but had declared "Y'all look right fit for this, don't need none of my help," before wandering a little ways away to admire one of the other star's more flamboyant outfits closer up. Elvis had loved all of the fashion of the modern era, comparing it to what he wore or knew. Austin was a little overwhelmed sometimes with the requests to put on youtube videos of fashion shows, because Elvis Presley sitting on your couch and commenting on haute couture wasn't something he really thought would ever happen. Well, discounting the obvious. But here he was, without Elvis's ever-present little comments in his head, and his hands were shaking a bit from the nerves he seemingly could never shake. Elvis was admittedly right, in that it wasn't as bad as it had been. He could do this. And he was doing it: there were the normal questions, about the production and working with Baz. That was safe territory. He felt Elvis come up behind him with that particular ozone smell, the calm before the storm. He ignored the way his hair stood up, and felt himself relax with the familiar presence by his side. And then came the damning question. "So, Austin, everyone's saying you've been possessed by Elvis for this movie, you embody him so well! How does that make you feel?" Austin froze, and felt himself go wide eyed as uproarous laughter came from behind him, until there was the odd, melted wax feeling of Elvis slipping into his body, and he heard that laughter in his head. Then there was the smirk on his face he could feel Elvis making, his own mind going blank enough he couldn't catch Elvis from answering. "Still here, darlin'. Got this boy in a chokehold, heheha!" That particular inhale-laugh at the end and sparkling eyes before Elvis grinned and sauntered off with Austin's body. The body he wanted to leave right now. The interview went viral, much to Austin's horror and Elvis's smirking satisfaction.
