Shooting cabbages at Vecna

After this shot of Joyce at Will’s funeral in 1x05, we get a flashback with Will drawing. In a way it doesn’t look suspicious: the narrative seems logical, showing us Joyce’s thoughts, but these flashbacks lead us out to Hopper, leaving Joyce and her memories behind. No resolution.

So I decided to pay more attention to what Joyce and Will discuss, to see why the flashback is important at all. They wouldn’t just put it there to depict Will as a cute kid, right? We got it already.

Will The Wise is back. (Back from where?) And right away: Will couldn’t find the red crayon, so he draws with a green one. You don’t say.

Sometimes bad guys can be smart too. Like, they can go back in time, take away your red crayons, true colours of your reality and you? Not to let you burn them to a crisp with right-coloured fireballs?

But mb you can do something about it, so that in the final battle the bad guys wouldn’t be allegedly defeated with cabbages discoloured fireballs?

Now, bonus points: these are almost identical at core, but at the same time two different drawings. I don’t know why, as the colours are still the same, but you can see clearly that the blue lines and the cabbages are different. Especially, the cabbages.

I really don’t get why, they change twice in one scene in 1x05 and then in the next episode, 1x06

The cabbages with lines are only on the 2nd one.

But the 3rd one is not the first, you can compare zones in the yellow circles :/
