my favorite way to do figure studies. this piece is pulling double duty as a 'what would he look like with a braid' experiment because sometimes you want to know. sometimes you write a book and get back the first round of edits and realize it would heavily support the themes if the protagonist has a long braid. that just happens sometimes.

it is however extremely funny that i got here after giving vester a braid, specifically because he didn't need to look like cadogan anymore. welp!

sorry if you’re getting barraged by questions abt this guy but im so interested in cadogan’s story!!

i saw your lore post and I’m super curious (feel 110% free to ignore if you’re not comfortable answering)— he was raised as a boy for political reasons; does he also self-identify as a man, or is it just convenient/not something he’s thought about? I assume he does given the use of pronouns but i thought id ask

It's a good question! He does ultimately self-identify as a man, and if asked directly, he would say as much - but your hunch is correct, and that mostly has to do with convenience. Internally, he doesn't have a strong attachment to any gender, but he prefers to be seen as a man and to move in the world as a man, so man it is.

A ref for Cadogan! She is a doctor; she is withdrawn and as such, doesn’t have the best bedside manner, but what she lacks in smiles, she makes up for in skill. She is overly critical of herself, but is compassionate and stands up her principles as a doctor. For example, she sheltered Paloma, a notorious bandit while local villagers begged her to leave Paloma to die of an infected wound. It’s Cadogan’s belief that “a doctor treats everyone, even the lowest criminal.”

Look I know we’re all really unhappy about this but CONSIDER THIS

We have to get B.cho breakup, Bellamy un-brainwashed, Bellarke together, and end the series in 5 episodes. You know how they’re gonna do that??!?

Next episode Echo realises she doesn’t know Bellamy and Bellamy (as a Disciple) breaks up with Echo for trying to commit genocide on them.

THEN Bellamy uses MCap on Clarke and WATCHES HER FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM AND ALL SHE HAS SACRIFICED AND IT BREAKS HIS CULTISHNESS

We don’t get the Bellarke love confession to each other until at least ep 14, but next week will be the episode where Bellamy realises once and for all that Clarke is in love with him
