On June 28, 1970, the Christopher Street Gay Liberation Day March took place outside the #Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street, in Grenich Village, Manhattan, NYC--as a protest march to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising that took place exactly one year before, when police raided the Stonewall Inn, and their violence was resisted by LGBTQ patrons who fought back. ✊ ; ; Other cities across the country also simultaneously participated in the #GayLiberationDayMarch, which grew to become the annual #LGBTQ Pride parades celebrated each summer. While 2020 may mark the first year that major cities are unfortunately not hosting LGBTQ Pride festivals due to COVID-19 regulations, the ability to participate in virtual Pride celebrations can bring us closer together as we party across the nation and the globe in the name of LGBTQ equality and human rights. Here's to the 51st Stonewall Anniversary and 50 years of Pride🌈 A reminder from the #CageyCo team that you are seen and loved--today and always. 💜 ; ; ; #YouAreSeen #YouMatter #HappyPride #lgbtqia #PrideMonth #BreakingTheSilence #BreakTheStigma #MentalHealth #MentalIllness #MentalWellness #EmotionalWellness #StigmaFree #MentalHealthRecovery #SuicidePrevention #PTSDRecovery #AnxietyRecovery #DepressionRecovery #BipolarRecovery #BPDRecovery #NamiWalks #CageyStreetwear #CageyCollective #streetwear #streetstyle #fashion #fundraiser https://www.instagram.com/p/CCAXzbZlsrV/?igshid=16mw9tttdd75k
