I am reading my favorite Twelve/Missy fic. It's multichaptered and long. And fabulous.

Post-Hell Bent and Husbands of River Song for Twelve and goes AU from there.

I love how prickly and complicated it is and how much of a commitment phobe the Doctor is, and the conceit earlier in their lives, Doctor and Master, Koschei and Theta were not just lovers they were parents.

Koschei regenrated by accident into a woman, they were together but never married and best friends but never dated and their daughter died.

It's the loss of their daughter that slowly and surely drove a wedge between them and Theta marrying someone else more appropriate for his House.

And now millennias later they are hanging out and the section they're on is them slowly falling into their pattern of hanging out and not not dating. And sometime in the future of this story start having sex again. Gender between them never mattered.

I love this complicated and tricksy story.

Also, Doctor really needs to learn how to maintain the TARDIS.

I think I started considering the Doctor as queer with the way Nine responded to Jack Harkness, like I don't think Nine is interested but he's also aware and engaging.

Then I learned about the Doctor's relationship with the Master and since then I cemented my thoughts that the Doctor is queer.

The Master's mere presence in the Doctor's life, for me, means the Doctor has always been queer but with possible preferance for women.

The Doctor's relationship with the Master/Missy is not the best nor the healthiest but it exists.

Also when The Rani, one of their old Academy classmate, calls the Master out for mucking up her work just because the Master is obsessed with getting the Doctor's attention in Classic Who, that pretty much makes it canon for me.

So, it would be really interesting to see how Chibnall handles Thirteen's romantic life.

(Oh also, I know Russell T. Davies, Steven Moffat, and Paul Cornell are Doctor/Master shippers).
