Jeremiah/Joker Theory:
So recently Cameron has been giving us hints basically saying he will become the joker.. There's also some hints that seem to suggest "Jeremiah" isn't the Joker. I believe this is both true and false. The reason being because Cameron teased he's playing a third character that will show up in the finale, which happens to be his favorite character he's played. More than likely the guy who would be the official Joker.
My theory is Jeremiah is gonna fall into the vat of chemicals and forget who he is. I believe he will have traits of both himself and Jerome. Maybe Jerome would become apart of him. Kind of like Ed and the Riddler. And if he forgets who he is like his name, back story, etc. Then it would make more sense as to how he becomes 'the Joker' instead of just Jeremiah. Also it would make sense because both his and Jerome's name starts with a J. Maybe he would get random hazy flashbacks from his childhood, and life, and maybe that's why the Joker tells so many origin stories.
I know none of this makes sense, and I'm sorry I currently can't form the words to better explain what I mean. I hope you all can understand what I'm trying to say though. I truly feel that this "new guy" is gonna be Jeremiah, but when he falls into the vat of chemicals he will become even crazier, and maybe start seeing Jerome and getting traits from him as well.
