Club Highlight! Love Your Melon Campus Crew is one of the newer clubs on campus. This club is a nationwide project started by college students just like us! This club works to bring awareness about childhood cancer. The company makes hats and other great products and with every product bought a hat is donate to a child combating cancer. Our campus crew has a passion for bringing this awareness and helping those in need. They frequently table at events on campus and hope to bring a smile along the way.
Love Your Melon is an apparel brand that gives a hat to every child battling cancer in America, funds childhood cancer research initiatives, and provides immediate support for children and their families. Together we have given away over 51,000 hats, carried out over 700 donation events and donated over $1,000,000 to the fight against pediatric cancer.
This January, I was able to become involved with the Love Your Melon Campus Crew on my college campus. Love Your Melon Ambassadors are students who are determined to improve the lives of children battling cancer. Crew members raise awareness for childhood cancer, represent the brand through promotions and sales events. The Campus Crew program has grown to include over 11,000 Crew Members across the nation at 736 different educational institutions! How awesome is that?!
My personal experience with being a Crew member has been nothing short of inspirational. In March, some members of our crew was able to visit a 5 (now 6!) year old boy named Dawson. He was diagnosed with Leukemia a couple of years ago, and was recently declared cancer free! We were able to enjoy some pizza, have an epic Nerf gun war, and just play with him and his brother Mason. The joy Dawson had was inspirational, and the impact that play date had on my life cannot be described in words.

I was also able to take part in Love Your Melon’s Superhero Day. On April 28, Crew Members across the nation suited up in superhero gear and headed to local children’s hospitals and individual houses to play with the children who are suffering from such a terrible disease. Our crew visited our local children’s hospital and played video games, house, and cars, painted, shot some hoops, and just spent time with the children in one of the hospital’s play rooms. It was so fun to spend time with these kids and show them that they are not defined by their sickness, whether it was a broken arm or cancer.

Love Your Melon is an amazing non-profit organization run by college students. With each purchase of a hat, cap, scarf, or shirt, they donate a hat to a child battling cancer.
