fyi if you get rid of anomalocarises from public spaces then you will quite literally starve. you know those dead soft-bodied organisms yall scavenge and eat? yeah anomalocaris is the one providing those for you. as a scavenger myself i have been personally impacted by loss of food due to unfair treatment of anomalocarises that have forced them to leave the shallows that i live in and let me tell you eating detritus and nothing else is literally awful. please think twice before you post something prejudiced like this.

Did anyone else happen to see @shalesifters poll on the landmasses (followed by the reblog of the mollusc)? I'd like to think that I was born in the wrong generation. I should have been able to experience the joys of being a land-dweller. I may just have grown tired of being in the ocean every day; quite frankly I just want some sort of change or reform (especially considering the incredulous prices of jellyfish nowadays...)

i've had TWO neighbors pass away from hypoxia in the past month, definitely have noticed the breathing issues too. also i havent seen an archaeocyathid in so long either. so weird😬😬
Took my meds for the first time in a long time and popped this bad boy out in roughly 12 hours.
From left to right, top to bottom We got Latouchella Accordionata, Apankura, Anomalocaris, Paradoxides, Chipewalla Patellithica, Archaeocyatha, Canadaspis, Burgessomedusa Phasmiformis, Heliocystis, and Phyllograptus Typus (Ordovician).
I drew the world as best i could as an amateur cartographer at best, though i put as much heart and soul as a 14th century European professional (I <3 Gondwana), and i did add in the rings we may have had during the Ordovician because i think they look cool.
It was fun searching for all the animals to draw in here. I really thought the Heliocystis was gonna be bigger, around 30 cm, based on other paleoart i saw and the fossils not being labeled for size in any way. I should've dug deeper into Phyllograptus, i was getting tired by then and just saw a fossil i could kida draw and wasn't looking at its age. A cursory glance at any date would've told me that this guy is far too young to be Cambrian.
Canadaspis perfecta, an extinct arthropod from the cambrian period. For references I used the wikipedia article on it. The wikipedia said that Canadaspis had eight legs, two stalked eyes, a small pair on antennae between the eyes, a larger pair of antennae with spikes towards the end of it, and of course the shell. I used images of the existing fossils, some explanations of the fossils, and some reconstructions to end up with this design.
