Valid crash out
Feel free to turn me down, but can I ever persuade you to write a little snippet of Ruby X Rogers /or/Hook? I know you write Detective Red Snowing sometimes, but captain wolf is one of my OTP rarepairs and I like your style, so I was just wondering.
This is my first time writing for these two and I hope I did them justice. <3
I'm trying to start a flame in the heart of the night: Captain Wolf AU

CAPTAIN WOLF 6 INCH
starter for @atemyboyfriend because i miss you, dude, and your writing.
(context: think the end of 3A without the extra drama of Pan-as-Henry).
He was out of reasons to stay in Storybrooke, now. With Pan defeated and Henry safely returned home, Killian’s debt to “the Charmings” had been paid. And yet, standing here in the back corner of Granny’s diner, watching the family gathered at a table shrouded in a warm, loving light...he almost wished it hadn't. There was a wistful sort of curiosity swelling in him at the sight: the longer he looked, the more fascinated he was. They just seemed to ...belong to each other. Like they were all pieces of the same soul. And though Killian had managed--against all odds--to form a few connections in this little town, he was certain he'd never find that.
There was one connection, however, that he wanted to see through to the end: the wolf-girl, Ruby, with the entrancing green eyes that were somehow both fierce and soft all at once. From the beginning, she was the one person in Storybrooke who seemed willing to give him a chance without asking him to prove himself worthy of it, and with that, she had endeared herself to him. If he was leaving Storybrooke, he could not leave without saying good-bye; or at least, thank you.
Killian glanced toward the counter, where said wolf-girl was bustling around, This could very well be the last he saw of her, he realized with a bittersweet regret: she seemed happy, which was how he wanted to remember her. Half a smile curled his lips as he sauntered toward the counter, keeping all his thoughts and feelings carefully hidden under a layer of sardonic flirtation.
“Take a break, love,” he asked by way of greeting, hooking his foot around a barstool. “Sit. Have one last drink with me, eh? Send me off right.”
I had never really considered Red Hook/Captain Wolf but damn it it’s probably the most aesthetically pleasing ship I have ever seen.
Inspired by one fanfic about this couple, I decided to create something festive.
Merry Christmas!
p.s. yes, I love canon, but "captain wolf" stuck in my head for a long time.
