Hey there, I found your blog the other day while being unable to stop thinking about a young coyote I found on the side of the road lol. What's your opinion on strait up burying them in the ground? I kinda panicked and had to get him somewhere quick. It's not that far down, but I staked down a metal grating over top, in case something gets curious. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

There’s no shame in letting nature take it’s course, especially if it’s your first time working on something!  Burial is a very effective way to clean entire animals so long as no critters decide to get nosy (and the metal grate will deffo help with that). 

Next time you bury something, I’d suggest doing it in a rot pot since it make it easier to collect the bones in the long run instead of just digging through the ground (you’d be surprised how much the bones will shift around over the next few months). Other then that it’s all good! Since it’s a younger animal the skull is likely to fall apart and you may not be able to gather all the pieces, and just due to it not being a controlled burial you may find it hard to fine all the bones. No worries though, I panicked the first few times I worked on animals (and I don’t even have any bones to show for my efforts lol). You’ll deffo be able to retrieve some parts of the little yotie in a few months <3

If there wasn’t already an opal fusion, I’d think their fusion would be opal. Bismuth’s gem is a rainbow, pearls are pastel, opals are… pretty much both of those things. There’s only so many gemstones, and fusions and base gems can share names, so it makes me wonder if different gems can form the same fusion? Or at least, if that fusion can share the name of another fusion. Or, if there are different kinds of opals. I mean there’s different kinds of garnets right? :P

I don’t have too much gemstone knowledge but I think I’ll put my vote on ‘some kind of Opal’ for now.
