Note: This is just a little drabble/preference thing because mobile kinda sucks for posting one shots and anything with a gif. I feel bad if I don't post.💖😺 Prompt: Imagine having a bad dream and Cas comforts you. . . . . You bolted up in your bed, nightmares scratching at your brain. Nightmares are the usual for you, but tonight was different. Tonight was too realistic, and just a little too much for you. Tonight your dreams had produced something greater than your biggest fear. Your dreams had somehow produced an outcome of death. Not just any death, but the death of Castiel. That was one thing you could've gone your whole life without seeing. That was why you were in your bed at 4 AM, trying your hardest to stop crying. "Cas?" You questioned in a whisper. There was a long moment of silence before anything was heard. Your heart felt as if it was pounding out of your chest. You were desperately worried for him, even though you knew he was alright. He sensed your feelings, they were impossible to ignore. "Yes?" Castiel questioned softly. "Are you," You paused, taking a breath, "are you okay?" "Yes, quite, what is wrong?" Castiel asked, now concerned. "It's nothing, I just had a bad dream and you died," Your voice broke, "I just had to be sure you were okay." "I am fine, but I am not sure that you are." He said, coming closer. You locked eyes with him as he slowly moved toward you. He gently put a hand on your cheek, wiping your tears away with his thumb. It had a calming effect on you, and your tears slowly stopped flowing. You put your hand on his, a weight lifted off your chest. His eyes showed his deep concern for you. He at beside you, and you instantly hugged him. His arms wrapped around you protectively, a hand on your head. You let out a shaky breath, happy that he was okay. A wave of exhaustion hit you, as did fear. "Why are you afraid?" Cas asked quietly, kissing your head. "I don't want to have that nightmare again." You confessed. "You will not, I promise you." He assured. "Lay with me?" You asked quietly, pulling away. He offered you a small smile, kissing your forehead before moving to lay with you. As you two cuddled, his hand softly trailed up and down your back. Your eyes grew heavier, and when you slept you actually did not have a nightmare. It was a rather pleasant dream.
