Art featured on left of banner by dazzlingjedi on twitter: https://twitter.com/dazzlingjedi
As war grips the galaxy and plunges it into turmoil the likes which have not been seen for centuries, Jedi Master Taevaris must navigate the battlefield as well as her growing cynicism and the relationships that bloom amidst the chaos.
Preface: A semi canon-compliant series featuring my personal OC and self-insert, Castalla Taevaris. Please bare in mind I’ve written this for my own personal enjoyment and am publishing it as a form of art so please don’t shout at me for the fact that I’ve created an entirely new species and lore associated with them lmaoksdlfjgdf xD please note that in this AU Rex has not physically aged (the reason for which will be revealed as the story progresses) and is therefore physically the same as he was in the Bad Batch. Besides that, its fairly in-line with canon. It’s a pretty lengthy series since the scenes and events and lore has been built up over years and I am constantly coming up with new scenes and lines for the AU. Primarily features the blossoming relationship between Castalla and Rex but delves into her friendships with the Jedi and Clones around her.
If anyone wants to beta-read my stuff that would be awesome! Give me a shout if you’re interested!
It goes without saying; please don’t steal my character or the banner since it features art of her.
Chapter Warnings: Spoilers for the original Trilogy, The Clone Wars and Rebels and allusion to the (supposed!)death of a canon character.
Entire Series Warnings: 18+ ; deals with injuries, violence, eventually smut and mature/potentially triggering themes like torture, assault and infertility. Individual chapters will be labelled with the specific warnings, please be sure to read the warnings.

The Prologue || Endor 4ABY
Two figures stood upon a bridge that swayed with the slight breeze, little more than shadows in the darkness. The sound of distant celebrations was but a whisper against the deafening silence, a calm that felt both surreal and somehow false after all those years. Their shoulders met, their arms touching as they each drew strength from the other beside them, a trust tempered in the forge of time.
“The war’s finally over,” Castalla breathed, as though the very words might shatter the fragile dream.
“After all these years- it doesn’t feel real,” Rex mused, his own voice soft upon the silence.
It was not just the rebellion that occupied their thoughts; the years spent on the Ghost with the fledgling alliance, moulding it into a force that could stand against the Empire. No. It was the Clone Wars and the downfall of the Republic, the first war that seeped into the second like poison into blood. Thoughts turned to the ones they’d lost; the soldiers and the generals, the brothers and the Jedi.
The dead that haunted her had weighed so much all these years that as it lifted now, Castalla felt like she might float away with nothing to hold her down. But she glanced at Rex, at the other half of her soul, her destined, her bonded, the man who had been right there beside her through it all. Leaning her head on his shoulder, she breathed in his scent to steady herself.
“He came back,” she murmured. They both knew who she meant. “At the end, Luke brought him back.” Unshed tears glistened in the darkness, a sight that had once been rare in the grey-blue of Castalla’s eyes but had become more common as the years of loss dragged on.
“If only Ahsoka had been here to see it.”
Castalla closed her eyes and the tears slipped from the corners, unbidden memories seeping from ancient windows. Smoke filled the air around them, tasting of ash and embers and whatever creatures the Ewoks were roasting amid the distant flames. It was like two worlds; one of fiery joy and ecstatic hope, one of primordial grief and bone-weary relief.
An arm encompassed her, a gloved hand pulling her in closer and tugging her softly from the twisting paths of her mind. She drew her head up, meeting Rex’s hazel gaze and the tears that gleamed in his eyes too, nestling her head into his neck once more. “She knows,” Cast whispered against his skin, “she knows.”
