Determination.

Hey guys!

I'm FJG I have been having trouble with my determination in my summer math course. I have struggled all semester, missed the withdraw date and now I am drowning trying to understand basic things while studying for the final exam. When it comes to math I get discouraged easily.

Recently I am getting back into my faith and I've taken a particular liking to reading some scripture which I NEVER used to do. So tonight in light of my diminished determination I googled, "what does the bible say about determination?" I clicked the first link and got a bunch of Bible verses that mention determination. When I read the first one I felt kind of stupid that I didn't think of it right away,

"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13.

It's such a simple passage that I had overlooked it. Then it hit me...I wasn't allowing God the chance to help me. I was just getting more and more frustrated. I have put the math away for the night but I am honestly a little excited to start in the morning and finally allow God to just wash over me and bring me peace while I attempt to cram for my exam on Monday. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME!!

Let us all make a pact to never forget Philippians 4:13 ever again! Just commit it to memory. Typing all of this is giving me a sense of peace and closure to even this small issue in my life. So excited to begin this cyber spiritual journey with my best friend AMM!

Buried Treasure to Fan Club

The story of Saint Philomena is shrouded in some mystery. Only through an apparent revelation, centuries later to a nun in Naples, Italy was the story of her martyrdom revealed.

A 13 year old Philomena refused to lose her virginity several times to a Roman ruler, which in turn had her tortured and many attempts to kill her were ordered by him. First came the arrows.... FAIL. Then he tried to drown her twice via an anchor necklace. DOUBLE FAIL. Eventually she was beheaded, only after converting so many to Christ due to her steadfastness throughout this whole ordeal.

Fast forward seventeen centuries later, and her bones were discovered alongside inscriptions alluding to her identity and her life. They were moved to Mugnano, Italy and that's when the Philomena fun started to begin, having many Popes, would-be saints at the time and many others devoted to her.

She's gotten herself quite the holy fan base. It only took a few centuries to get there.
