Thought about what would happen if the Prototype got jealous of you. Because Poppy, his sister, clings to you like a lifeline. And it makes him think about his father.

The Prototype and Poppy's angel
★ Those who know him would whisper that he's a narcissist -and he absolutely is. But it's unclear if the Prototype was born this way, or if it's something learned. Because being treated like a god would warp anyone’s sense of self.
★ He's become very desensitized to violence. Never flinching at the sound of bones snapping. Flesh being pulled apart, and falling to the concrete floor with a wet thud. He doesn’t even look down.
★ Empathy is reserved for toys who obey. Even then, it's in limited supply. The Prototype doesn't care who survives. Say a toy scurries beneath his six legs. He'll make it quick and stab them in the chest. Killing fast.
★ People -outsiders, they're not shown that same kindness. When the Player stepped into his heaven? He knew you were meant to die slow.
★ Everything he does is for the benefit of himself and Poppy. Although he ends up hurting her more than anything else. In his mind, he knows what's best for her. She's just a child that needs to be corrected, guided and controlled.
★ When she forces his hand, (doesn't follow along,) it's Poppy's fault Prototype to hurt her. The blame falls on her. Every time. She should've listened to him. Now look at what she made him do? It's all her fault.
★ The fact Poppy dragged an outside into what he considers a family matter is insulting. To him, she's using you as a shield. Reminds him of how Poppy used to hide behind their dad. She would cry. And Elliot would tell her it'd be okay.
★ But his dad isn't here anymore. It was frustrating then, and still is now. Poppy clings to you the same way. That... doesn't sit well with him. But he refuses to admit he's jealous.
★ The Prototype tells himself you aren't important. Only a temporary problem. She'll lose interest in you, soon enough. The only reason Poppy likes you is because she needs you.
★ You're a real pain, you know that? A playmate he didn't ask for. And while it is fun toying with your life, he knows that all good things must come to an end.
★ As you sink into the poppy gel, the world becomes numb around you. He hopes you'll understand what a mistake coming back here was when the light leaves your eyes... What he didn't know was that you had more friends than he thought.
semi-platonic!prototype x orphan!reader — part one | part two
WARNINGS: mentions of cannibalism, adult!Ollie, adult!prototype, adult!reader, adult!Theo, Theo is catnap, ALL CHARACTERS ARE ADULTS.
A/N: the prototype is harder to write for than Harley Sawyer…yall I’m literally dying.
It had been years since you’d seen another human.
During the hour of joy, when your counselors, friends, and the rest of the playtime staff were slaughtered, you were left alone in the aftermath. You never knew why exactly, but you always assumed it had something to do with him.
The prototype.
You know him as Ollie, although you never had the liberty of meeting him before he became the horrifying amalgamation he is today.
He was good to you, keeping you safe from any of the bigger bodies or little critters who would happily feed on your remains and put you to good ‘use’. He always protected you, the only person he would allow to walk beside him once he became a god of Playtime.
You didn’t approve of his methods and you would never pretend to either. At first, Ollie had tried to be secretive, taking the remains of the things he kills and cooking them to make it look more ‘edible’. Unfortunately for 1006, you caught on quickly almost refusing to eat at all, taunting him with your death.
But the prototype always has his ways of convincing people—or crushing them under his long, spider-like leg.
You were the only person who could get away with defying the prototype and make it out unscathed. Which is why, you were making use of that privilege.
Walking down the colorful halls of an executive hallway, rubbing your hand against the left wall as you silently pass. The bright tiled floor is no longer the polished beauty it once was. Nothing in the factory was left the way it was intended after the hour of joy. Ollie had made sure that everyone knew their place.
You knew he’d be unhappy once he discovered you were gone, if he hadn’t already. He didn’t like it when you wandered, let alone leaving the labs entirely.
He always said that it was for monitoring purposes, but you had a strong feeling that he didn’t want to lose you in this place—whether that was by death or some other factor. At least if you were in the labs, he could try to save you. The ‘Poppy Goo’ tanks still functioned and had saved other toys in the past. You were almost positive that if you were on the verge of death, he would submerge you in one of the tanks as a last ditch effort to save you.
Suddenly, you hear a familiar breathing noise coming behind you. Catnap. Turning to see the menacing, purple cat standing still in the hallway, you turn and make your way towards the creature. You may not have known Ollie as a human, but you did know Theodore.
When you were younger, you would often play in the game station or sit next to each other during class. Miss Delight, even before she got part of her face ripped off, had always unnerved you, and Theo made it better. His voice was soothing, like a lullaby that could drift you to sleep if he tried to.
You missed that voice. He could still speak, but he rarely did. Even then, it just wasn’t the same, and you both knew it.
“Hey Theo.” You speak softly, petting the nightmarish cat’s mangy purple fur. He just stares at you, his pupils small and glowing white. “Is he looking for me?” The cat nods, not an exaggerated one. His nods were always more subtle, but you could always gauge what exactly he wanted to say before he even needed to use his speakers.
Starting the treacherous journey back into the labs, you take the lead, with catnap following behind like an obedient guard dog.
You carefully make your way through the Game Station where Mommy ruled, heading to the Playcare, which was Theo’s domain. Stepping into the large atrium-like facility you make your way across the artificial terf and past home sweet home.
You can’t help but reminisce your days as an orphan. Running around with Theo, playing tag with Matthew, fighting with Kevin. There wasn’t a single part you didn’t miss. You weren’t even sure what happened to the rest of the orphans. Some of them got turned into toys, sure. Yet, most of them just disappeared during the hour of joy.
While you hoped for their escape and maybe even survival out in the real world, you knew it was unlikely.
The prototype or the doctor would’ve seen them leave. They would know that they were gone. However, Ollie never mentioned it. Not once—and he always told you everything. Or at least, that’s what you wanted to believe.
Before you know it, you’re entering the sterile white domain of the labs. You don’t even have to turn a corner to see the prototype standing in the hallway looking very disappointed and somewhat frustrated. Just great, you think.
“You know you can’t leave.” The prototype starts, his voice changing tone and personality with every word, a key sign of his anger.
“I build you heaven and you keep trying to escape.” 1006 notes, his voice getting lower towards the end, mimicking the doctor.
“Ollie, I’m sorry.” You sigh, pausing and thinking over your next words very carefully. “But I can’t stay in the labs forever-”
“Why not?!” The prototype’s voice grows louder and more distorted as one clawed hand reaches out for you.
“Ollie, please just try to understand.” The prototype’s hand reaches out towards your face, one of his spiked fingers gently caressing your cheek.
“No, I understand perfectly.” Ollie speaks, first imitating himself followed by a lower pitch of what you assume to be Leith Pierre’s voice.
He gestures something to the giant purple cat standing behind you.
You start to see red smoke clouding the room. “No.” You gasp, pushing past the prototype and attempting to run in the other direction. Yet, you’re only met with a plain white wall. You’re trapped.
“I’m sorry.” The prototype says, but you know he isn’t. He’d gas you up 24/7 if it meant keeping you forever.
The red smoke is closing in, you’re feeling sleepy as the two creatures stare at you with blank expressions—not that they could really ever change with catnap’s mouth being in a permanent open smile and the prototype’s face being a simple mask.
“You will lose me one day.” You cough, trying not to inhale the red smoke as you lean against the wall, slowly losing consciousness. “Whether you like it or not.”
The Poppy Gas clouds your vision, making your eyes close one last time before you collapse to the ground, completely unconscious.
The prototype gently scoops you into his metallic arms, being careful not to poke you with his sharp fingers.
He knows you’re right—and he has to change that, quickly.
Carrying you over to one of the operation rooms, he slams the door open, ducking under the short ledge. He lays you on the table, watching your limbs work like a ragdoll. It’s strange, he thinks. He’s about to get rid of the only human in the factory—one of the only people he actually liked to begin with.
Even when you rebelled, he couldn’t stop the fondness in his dead heart whenever you would eventually return. You always came back to him in the end. He just had to make it more permanent.
He would call down the doctor, permitting him to enter the labs for the first time in ten years despite his prior refusal to give Sawyer any access.
This was going to be your last night as a human. He was going to fix you, make you immortal. All you had to do was lay there quietly and let him make you better.
pairing: prototype x gen!reader
tags: after the events of the train cutscene, alternative ending, reader fearing the prototype, sadistic prototype, i hope people has that same fear that I feel when I was watching C5 cause my heart was beating so fast, short
a/n: after watching chapter 5, i immediately made this (of course with lots of distractions like.. looking at his cutscenes.. and harley sawyer's.. a million of times) also there have been a massive influx of notes on my harley sawyer fic, thank you all!
I also want to clarify that there is age discourse about him and I want this to be a respectful space for discussion, I'm currently unsure on what he truly is but I would love to discuss about him lore and headcanon wise !
Adrenaline makes anybody run on a thready string of their own pulse, ligaments ready to split from the sheer fear of whatever they've seen. Inevitably, they run through the door which death humbly waits; snuffing out the light of hope that shouldn't have existed once anybody walks to this den named "Playtime Co".
You have sunken deep in hell. Even when Giblet's triumph exclaims and Poppy's panicked mutters echo through your head, you know one thing is certain and it didn't need to be said.
In a factory where anything can happen, the tormentor, the shadow of the factory that often fleets to one corner and another had enveloped all of you in an eerie smile of victory.
Giblet could feel the blood pounding in his ears, shaking like a dog kept in the cold rain as he stumbles over the rubble to hide. The false sense of security couldn't steer clear of the high level threat just a shoulder away.
"It can't.. he.."
He couldn't muster another word, choked with fear with his hands gripping his little head tight. Poppy had hurried over the door darting on her knobby legs with all her might, an expected look for her angel to stay right behind her.
It was like a flash, the Prototype fast on your heels until you felt your legs give out.
"No! Don't let him-"
His spider legs crawled close now, inching slowly. He can take as much time as he so pleases when he sees such an expression on your face he finds delightful, his elongated claws just hovering down to your face.
In a brutal swipe, 1006 had slammed Poppy's body back against the doors, her head lolling to the side. An audible crack was heard, it was done to ensure she didn't get away as seen as how she had passed out. There was no time for him to be gentle especially since he had something else on his mind. His eyes then fleet over to you, slightly curled on the ground, palms flat against the ground as you tremble uncontrallably, blood crusting against your nails.
The tips of his talons poke into your cheeks, drawing blood that dripped down to the ground. Lightheadedness starts stabbing your skull. You've faced many trials in this one night indubitably but fear had sucked the fight from your body. He watches your chest heave, up and down. The yellow glow of his eye moves to and fro and you feel the cold, metallic hand against your chest and it makes your throat gasp out a sorry noise of dismay.
"What's wrong? Why has The Butcher stopped?"
"I feel it, that thumping against your skin.."
Cold eyes stare at your form which twists in hysteria, it was nothing like the human that braved through the levels of this cursed factory reeking of blood and grime. He lets out a deep, distorted laugh.
He presses deeper, the sharp metal imprinting into your skin and palpating the area where your weary heart remains . He coos, utterly entertained.
"Ah, your heart beat's picking up. Do I scare you, butcher?"
It was almost pathetic because you cry, howling out in cracks when he holds the back of your body to examine you much closer.
1006 articulates his words with a drawl of somebody playing with their food between their fingers. He watches your head twitch with hesitation to lift up and truly look at him. Truthfully, after the smiley faces of all the Bigger Body initiatives, they hold atleast a modicum of need for their own survival while the Prototype was the main reason their survival had ended. 1006 looked the part of a scary bed time story, one you'll never forget as you grow because that sinister maw filled with teeth that will never unshow itself sets an unsteady rhythm of unease in your heart.
An inkling he had was his appearance which he revelled in. You reacted akin to the children he had the pleasure to meet before sewing them inside out with his meticulous hands.
He gets real close on purpose, a clink and scrape of his legs against the floor. His breath swiping against your face.
"Boo."
That distorted hiss made your sweat trail down your face as you shut your eyes yet you still see him in the dark recesses of your mind. It was sick that he acted the part of a spider tangling you deep in its web except he commits it in such a bestial way. He knew he has won, gripping the prize in his hand until saliva bubble out of your lips.
"No!"
You couldn't stay strong anymore, your body weak from exhaustion. Stamina long gone with an aching body that yearns for consumption that you physically feel yourself grow limp in his hands.
His tactic on frightening you with keeping his face close was heinous, making you flail pathetically. He opened his nightmarish jaw matching a monster ready to devour his meal but what does he do instead?
Poppy's voice came from him in a mocking crackle, he shakes you slightly in his hold, toying with what he had watch scurry and leap throughout the factory. The Prototype thought you'd last longer, however he stares at the fight in your eyes dissipatating like red smoke. Long strands of spit seeps down your lips from the pure fatigue settling into your bones. In a last attempt to get away, you push his face back.
He tilts his head to the side to slightly nip at your finger, those crooked, vile teeth just inches away from snapping off a joint. It instilled more terror into you that this boogeyman will hurt you or worse to get closer to his goal now that he had the Butcher right in his grasp.
Your bloodshot eyes fleet to Poppy, her precious face already so shattered by the horrors of the night and Giblet who kept his head down in the precense of the feared experiment. Teeth bite down harder on your tendons, moving to include the rest of your hand. 1006 seemed to want only your eyes on him. Those trembling eyes he had begun to savour struggling to stay open.
"Don't be scared, I can finally fix you."
The pallor in your face deeply seetles, a jeer back at tea time with a mighty guffaw rumbling out of him. You felt yourself getting carried off, along with Poppy whom he stuffed into your bloodied jacket to fit snugly for the ride.
A soft, uncharecteristic chuckle soon follows, he watches you lose consciousness in his arms, tracing the drool on your chin and letting it slip between his claws. Poppy nestles onto your chest so devastatingly at peace, moving ever so slightly to the Prototype's janky movements.
Giblet looks up once when he heard the telltale shift of clinking, he grips his chest now that the inevitable is here. The Prototype took you and Poppy deep into his lairs, doing god knows what. It made all hope that had remained inside him shatter since it takes him back to square one.
With a haunting trill, he stalks into the darkness, finally with the two possessions he wished to have in a very long time. A lot of emotions run through his disfigured body but what he felt at that moment matched his mad, petrifying face; mania.
AN: Fandom so miserable that I almost didn't post this 💀. It's actually so depressing how much potential this game had before it took THAT route 🥀
Word Count: 3k+
Click-clink.
You try to stay clear-headed as you hear its mechanical joints grinding together along with a piston or something shifting from air pressure.
“Do you really think you can HIde ForEveR?”
You shiver as you hear that creature’s voice glitching out again.
Is it broken…? Does that even matter?!
You don’t know what it is besides that it’s sentient and dangerous. You had barely managed to escape with your life once more while sliding back into the vent, but now that you've seen it twice, It seemed to be some sort of metal spider mixed with a jester. A jack-in-the-box? Whatever! None of that mattered besides you finding your way out of here!
You and your friends were always exploring abandoned haunts as a random hobby you all had picked up and this time you four had plotted to break into the desolate Poppy Playtime factory. It was randomly brought into the conversation as you were all watching a sports game together when one of you had mentioned the toy their aunt had given them in their childhood.
“Yeah man, it was like some fluffy purple cat.”
“Wait, I think I know what you’re talking about.”
“Shit. They also had that doll called Peony Playhour?”
“You mean Poppy Playtime.”
“That’s what I said.”
After reminiscing on your old memories and doing minimal research because it felt like the company had just disappeared off the face of the planet, which it kind of did, you all decided to pack your bags and go on a road trip to see what had truly occurred to cause the factory to just close one day.
Wewooooo!
Your friend whistles as he manages to turn on his flashlight and you all follow suit.
“Ah man, I remember Huggy Wuggy.”
“Bet you hugged him to sleep every night~”
“Did not.”
Your friends shove each other as they play around, while you could only scrutinize your surroundings. The place wasn’t nearly dusty or destroyed enough to be considered abandoned… Everyone was having a good time and you didn’t want to ruin it, but there was still a strange atmosphere present in the area. It almost felt like you were being watched.
“Do you guys get a feeling that something bad happened here?”
“Obviously, genius. Why else would they close a thriving factory with millions of dollars in profit?”
“Right…”
You huff as you’re easily dismissed by the others, but even they begin to feel the oppressive weight of the factory on their minds. It’s not until you all encounter a giant door with a heavy lock on the front do they finally decide to call it a night. The strange poppy flower painting and the numerous scribbled writings of “Turn back” send chills down your spine.
“I can't believe they also painted the toys with blood and hung ‘em.”
They laugh, but you notice that the paint on the door isn't at all like the ones stained on the toys’ bodies. The splotches have turned a deep brown in some spots, oxidization, it was definitely blood. You were sure of it.
“I bet Y/N’s happy.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
You try to keep a calm mind and a steady hand as your flashlight trembles in your grip while you walk behind them.
“Why so jumpy? We said we were leaving.”
They laugh at you as one of them throws an arm around your shoulders to try and lighten you up. It's not until you all reach the inner main lobby do you notice that something's amiss: the Huggy Wuggy mascot in the center platform is gone.
“Was I daydreaming an 18-foot blue plushie?”
“Nah bro, it was definitely there…”
You quickly turn off your flashlight as your hand begins to shake even more. The lights from your friends’ flashlights are enough to pave a clear path anyways.
“Hey, what's that?”
One of your friends asks as he points his flashlight at the entrance you all came from. Blue fur, spindly limbs, and a mouth no longer curled into a cute smile but instead split open to show rows upon rows of teeth greet you.
“Heeek!”
He drops his flashlight and within a second he's grabbed by the creature. You all watch in shock as Huggy Wuggy lifts your friend into the air before shoving half of him into his mouth.
Krsh. Krsh.
“He… He just…”
Its dark pupils slowly slide in its glassy eyes until it's focusing on the rest of your group.
Run.
You don't wait a second as your legs are on auto-pilot while the creature charges at the rest of your friends who also separate and scatter. A tactic you all would usually partake in when the police would find you all trespassing on private property.
I knew this was a bad idea! I knew it! I knew it!
You hear the creature’s inhuman shrieks fading in the distance as you run into random rooms to hide. You eventually find yourself in the mini warehouse and take cover behind a pile of boxes next to the stairs.
Control your breathing! Control your heart rate!
But how could you when you hear the doors slamming open and one of your friends screaming in a panic. You've never heard someone shout for their life before, at least not outside of movies. Nothing could replicate that desperate wailing being ripped straight from a person’s chest, nor the sound of that monster's teeth sinking into them as it grabbed her and, you assume, broke her into two. The sickening squelching noises make your stomach twist as you try not to cry and/or vomit. Bones crack like twigs while blood sprays so far that it barely misses you and instead hits the wall behind you. Her body hits the floor with a thud as you close your eyes and try to think of something else, anything else, except the situation you were currently in. A small sob almost escapes you as you hear the creature dragging her away and out of the stairwell. You're too afraid to move. You think you could just wait here forever and die a more peaceful death than whatever the plush monster had in store for you.
Time passes eerily slow as quiet settles over the factory once more. You hug your knees closer to your chest as you sniffle, but refuse to cry.
Did he leave…?
You think about popping your head out from behind the boxes to look, but you can’t without at least one sign you’ll be okay.
“Is that all of them?”
What?
A charismatic voice echoes from outside the storage room and you're compelled to leave your hiding spot to see what's occurring.
That's a man's voice. It's a person!
But instead you're greeted with something even more horrifying. A man-made horror beyond your comprehension with needles for hands and mechanical spider-legs for a lower body stands in front of Huggy Wuggy. You try not to look at it as much as possible or your friends skewered on its fingers, opting to keep your eyes on the large blue doll instead.
“Good job, HugGY WuggY!”
Their voice switches to that of a small child before distorting into something that could only be described as demonic static while your legs tremble from behind the wall.
“Now remember, find the last one as well. We cannot let any intruders into our paradise!”
Huggy Wuggy gave a small guttural growl in response before walking off with heavy footsteps. The creature looks around momentarily and you duck your head back behind the wall. The tips of its legs click against the floor before the sound of the remnants of your friends being dragged away reaches your ears.
They're going to eat them. And then me.
The situation is hopeless. You've been waiting for that stupid, murderous, giant ball of fur to wander off somewhere else, but instead it's just been getting more and more mad while pummeling things in the lobby out of frustration. The plaque describing Huggy Wuggy is bent sideways as he punches at everything else that surrounds him. His irritation is nearly hitting his peak as he's unable to find you.
Stupid doll.
You internally groan as you slide back down into your new hiding spot.
That creature is his boss. That shit was not a toy.
You wonder what on earth that thing could have even been. It was perfectly emulating all manners of human speech and mannerisms unlike Huggy who seemed to be a somewhat mindless plush monster. You shake your head.
Not empty-headed, that thing is just feral.
You hear him screeching even louder as he bashes his fist through another wall.
And angry beyond belief, fricking loser.
You wait. And wait. And keep waiting.
It's been hours now and you were starting to feel cramped. If you couldn't escape through the main entrance, then maybe there was another way.
You end up hiding and sneaking your way back into the storage room warehouse and find an open ventilation shaft.
Cobwebs cover the front and the entirety of the internal pathways of the vents are most likely filled with rats and spiders…
You sigh but this is what you signed up for when you came here with your friends. Exploration and adrenaline that could fulfill your guys’ curiosity for years to come!
What a waste. I need to find a way out.
You brush aside the cobwebs with a small toy block before quietly placing it to the side and going into the ventilation shaft. It's not as tight a fit as you would expect. Someone could even crouch run in here if they wanted to.
Wanted to? More like if you needed to.
“Ugh…”
You groan softly as you make your way through the labyrinth of steel and stale air as Huggy continues to throw a tantrum beneath you.
If he's screaming in the inner lobby area, then maybe this way?
His screams become a thing of the distant past. More like the past hour as you continue to crawl through the vents with aching hands and sore legs. You start to realize that the vents are going on for way too long. That this couldn't possibly be the way to the main entrance past the inner lobby. You must've gone the wrong way and deeper into the factory…
Small groans slip past your lips as you lay your head on the slightly lukewarm metal of the ventilation shaft.
Fuck. I should just go back down to the ground and figure out where I am first.
You crawl further in and find a grate that you could easily kick open. Through the gaps, you can see a room filled with pillows and an empty glass case.
What could this room even be for? What the actual fuck is happening in this factory.
You maneuver your body around before easily kicking the grate open and pushing yourself into the room. The wallpaper is peeling and it smells weird, but it's oddly cozy. It’s much more comfortable than whatever the hell was going on in the front of the factory. You walk close to the glass case to confirm that it's indeed empty. Nothing small lays on the pillow nor is there even an indent of something ever having been placed on it.
“Why would they have a place like this in a toy factory…?”
“Why indeed?’
You close your eyes as you exhale and wonder if you have enough time to run back into the vent and crawl away.
Probably not. Probably yes. Your legs feel like jelly, but you manage to dive into the vent before the ends of the creature's legs stop in front of the opening.
A man’s soothing voice plays from it.
“Come back to me, won't you?”
Fuck no!
You can hear its joints creaking as it bends down to take a better look at you, but you're already well on your way out of the room and unfortunately, further into the factory.
“A little mouse has made its way into the walls! We'll find you~”
A woman's voice sings-songs to your back as you shudder and try to ignore it. A factory this large must have had fire escapes, right? Surely, you can exit through one of those.
Wrong. So wrong. You're in disbelief as you find yourself even deeper in the factory.
Why the fuck is there an orphanage at the fucking core of the earth?!
You wander around as your feet sink into the fake grass and fans work overtime to mimic spring breezes. You glance at the numerous buildings nestled under this dome and the amount of overturned furniture in disbelief.
Nope. I need a break.
You sit down on a scratched up chair as you think of how you really need to start doing more thorough research before visiting abandoned buildings.
Like I would ever do this shit again!
You stop yourself before you can think of “and with who”...
Now wasn't the time for grief. You needed to focus on survival, especially with the way you shuddered at how that thing was most likely actively looking for you with its giant goons.
To any higher being that’s listening, please let Huggy be its only dumb goon after me!
You pray knowing full well, that Huggy Wuggy was probably only the first one with ten more waiting for you, each more awful than the last. It didn't hurt to have some hope in an awful situation, even if that hope was being chased down by two gruesome monsters instead of four.
The claw marks left behind on the head of the chair are huge and you can feel the indent of the missing wood on your back, but you feel like there’s probably more pressing matters.
Maybe that creepy boss thing did this?
You groan as you wonder how much longer you can keep gaslighting yourself into thinking everything is going to be okay. Your head is in your hands when you feel a looming shadow pass over you.
“Leave Playcare.”
You jump as you hear a raspy, whispered voice that seems to come out of nowhere.
“Or I'm coming for you.”
You almost spin in circles as you look for the source of the voice.
… Did it just tell me to leave?
“Can you lead the way then?”
Silence.
“I said I want to leave!”
You still see nothing in the shadows or the light nor hear the strange voice telling you to go away again.
Maybe I imagined it?
You wouldn’t be surprised, but just to make sure.
“I said I want to-!”
You gasp and stumble backwards as purple fur and eyes that resembled pitch-black voids stare at you from not even a centimeter away.
It's… It’s a cat.
You realize as you continue to back away from it while on your bruised behind on the floor. Your nerves start to go haywire as it just keeps watching you. It's entire mouth could swallow you whole in one bite. He almost looked even bigger than Huggy Wuggy.
This must be my fault for wishing for him to be the only dumb goon instead of the only goon…
“A-are you going to help me leave?”
You tremble as you ask it while rising to your feet. It mimics your actions as it also stands to its full quadrupedal height. But it doesn't answer you. The crescent moon on its collar jingles as it turns and begins to walk away from you.
“S-so do I follow you?”
It doesn't respond to your second question either. You sigh and decide to trail after it anyways solely because it didn't kill you when it clearly could have.
It leads you further into dark corners of Playcare as you struggle to see anything, only the swishing of its tail and the jingling of its collar keeps you on track. You stumble and trip eventually, grabbing onto its tail by accident. It stops walking right then and there. Its eyes glow in the dark as it looks back at you with that permanent wide mouth smile.
“Sorry, I tripped…”
You immediately let go of its soft tail and it's turning back around and continuing its trek.
Quiet… He's scheming something. There's no way, he isn't. Why did I have to run into something sentient again…
“I've brought her.”
“Good job, Catnap!”
You close your eyes as you smile in acceptance once you process whose or what’s voice you’re hearing.
I'm actually gonna die.
Fooled by an overgrown purple cat into walking straight into a death trap. You almost want to laugh at how absurd that sounds if it weren’t for an amalgamation of children's nightmares walking up to you with its own laugh.
“What a cute little thing! You've survived for so long all on your own!”
Catnap sits quietly as he patiently waits for a new command. His tail curled around in the empty space behind you to prevent any escape back to Playcare.
“And you listened to Catnap and didn't have to be dragged! Good job!”
You feel disgusted at being complimented by some creature that made you feel sick by just looking at it. It leans closer to you in the dim lighting of whatever back passageway Catnap had brought you to and you can count each individual tooth in its mouth. It's upper body contorts in a way that makes your own skin squirm in discomfort.
“I do want to see what you look like wrongside out.”
Its face shifts sideways, rotating its smile and eyes as you try not to faint. You take a step back purely on reflex, but feel Catnap's tail brush against your ankles. A clear warning: don’t even think about running.
“But I suppose some sacrifices have to be made!”
You flinch when its needle-like fingers bend down and inch closer to your head. You keep your head lowered and your gaze on the floor as it picks up a strand of your hair before dropping it and moving onto the next.
“Obedient. Willing to do what it must to survive. Quiet. You’ll do nicely!”
I think I should have let Huggy snap my neck…
You gasp loudly as its hand grabs your face and tilts your head so you couldn’t look anywhere but into its singular glowing eye.
“I think I'll make you my angel.”

went back into the poppy playtime fandom when chapter 5 came out and high-key I'm digging player x Harley and omg ur headcanons are fantastic HSXHSH
What do u think about mute!player (gender-neutral ofc)? I find that concept interesting since the player actually doesn't talk in the game- however there isn't a lot of writing content regarding that. Could it be possible if u wrote headcanons surrounding mute!player x the doctor? Thank u!
HARLEY SAWYER HEADCANONS PT.3
Part 1: HERE Part 2: HERE Part 3: HERE Part 4: HERE
GENERAL DISCLAIMERS: mute!player/reader character, non-canon accurate, gender neutral player/reader, slight course language
a/n: TYSM FOR THE REQUEST!! im honestly also interested in exploring the idea of a mute player, since yk if this player was me in the games, i wouldve been saying sm by this point so i think its a cool idea! definitely got a lotta brainstorming going while writing this. also yes assistant reader, i thought that would be a nice pairing with the mute reader!

・Was originally a struggle to communicate due to the language barrier. The doctor was initially stumped as to why the higher-ups would place a nonverbal assistant down here to work with him, but eventually got used to the silence your presence had.
・Harley, while never admitting it, does appreciate the attention to detail you put into writing reports. A good listener is always nice.
・You hold a small 'Playtime Co' notepad tucked into the pocket of your coat whenever you're working.
・Be lucky you write fast AND with nice handwriting, he would not be waiting forever to get a simple answer from you, his patience is very short.
・Because you specialised in child/adolescent psychiatry before majoring in cardiology, he values your input and opinion on matters regarding the mental and psychological aspects of the children he operates on.
・Everyone will and forever think you're crazy for working under the man for so long without quitting or him firing you.
・Early on, Harley did struggle to comprehend what you were trying to tell him sometimes. Missing a head nudge, point, or not carefully looking through what you wrote for him. Misunderstood a lot.
・Nowadays, it's easy for both of you to flow into a rhythm of work during the day, either together or apart. Reports you wrote always made it to him on time and with everything needed. The materials and equipment he needed were always there, and in the middle of it all was his content, little assistant.
・A lot of the time, when he would go on his rambles, you'd be wandering in the office, overhearing everything. He always knew you were there, but it never really mattered what you heard or didn't; he knew you'd never blab about it to anyone important.
・Despite being his assistant, don't think you have it easy. He still barks orders at you during the day to get things prepared, get reports done, even get his coffee order.
・You'd climb the social hierarchy fast. Anyone who can deal with Harley on a day-to-day basis gained nearly everyone's respect down in the labs.
・ Harley never really paid attention to the social aspect of his job, but if he witnessed some of the other scientists talking to you a little too often, he'd swoop in, complaining about 'not being able to find something' and whisk you away.
・After some time in this job, the notepad wasn't really needed during the day. The flow state you and the doctor had fallen into did not require many words from you. (Harley filled the empty silence with his own words, though, of course.)
・After his eventual disappearance, you were transferred over to Dr White to work under him. He never quite had the genius Sawyer did.
doctor!harley with the mute!player.
・The doctor was quite surprised to see you after all these years, still nonverbal as well. He found it amusing and nostalgic.
・The two of you fell back into the rhythm. Harley boasts and rambles while you do the dirty work of what he asks you to do. Like old times.
・He watches through the cameras as you trip and fall, gain new marks and scrapes, squint his eyes as he notices your body twitch from the pain and stress of running around tirelessly.
・How can one simply do this all without muttering a single complaint, just like how he once knew you!
・He would definitely consider not killing you and to kidnap take you back under his wing as his assistant once more.
・Coming face to face with him in one of his many bodies would be strange for him. Were you always this short?
・Coming face to face with him in one of his lanky robot bodies would be strange for you. Why was he so unusually tall?
・"Well now, this is a rather interesting turn of events." He would stare down at you, watching your face morph into slight surprise, alongside uneasiness in your stance.
・He watches as you fetch out the notepad he remembered you carrying around during his working years, the simple 'Playtime Co' branded notepad. "Harley?" He watches you write. He's glad you've retained your neat handwriting.
・"In the flesh, little germ."
・He'd never admit if but he would actually open and close convenient doors for you around the prison if he were feeling particularly cheeky.
・Doing your snooping around the prison, you find old offices where you and Sawyer used to conduct research and write reports in. Harley actually purposely never moved things around in those areas; they were too memorable to move around and wreck. Traces back to his humanity.
・Even though he's a certified sociopath, you still can't see him as anything other than the annoyed, picky, and standoffish boss you had the pleasure of working under all those years ago.
・Evil laughs very loudly when he's revealed to NOT be dead revived at the end of chapter 5. You just stand there staring at Giblet, who just gives you a 'what the fuck?' look.
a/n: my friend who is MASSIVELY obsessed with mbtis ran up to me the other day and told me harleys mbti would be most compatible with mine which uh THATS SICK AS HELL WHAT THE but yeah that totally wasnt my main inspiration for writing this request.
ps… continuation of this post. fem! reader w/ harley as a human. possibly ooc and not proofread. nsfw at the end.
thinking about . . . his sleepy face as he lazily brushes his teeth in your tiny shared bathroom in the morning next to you. his eyes are blinking owlishly, his hair messy and curled against his sleep flushed face. he pinches your forearm when he catches you staring at him a little too hard— but he knows and you maybe know it, it’s a sight not many get the pleasure of seeing(& living)
thinking about . . . all the emails he drafts to you; it’s a small reprieve when work is tedious and frustrating, airing how much bearable it would be if you were there to keep him company. he solemn sends it, but after his disappearance from human society, he wishes there was some things he said more out loud.
think about . . . how he calls you ‘my wife’, emphasis on the my part. he prides himself on not being the jealous type but something ticks him off when one of his colleagues manages to make you laugh a little too hard. “what exactly is so amusing?”
thinking about . . . his scoff when it’s cold outside and your ill fitted clothes are doing little to protect you from the weather. “if i recall correctly i did warn you for this,” he flicks your forehead but he has already peeled off his coat and pressed it over your shoulders. the sleeves and collar run a little big on your frame, your fingers peeking from beneath the cuffs. it’s doesn’t miss on him how they twitch. “give me your hand,” he sighs, slipping his fingers through to hold it. predictably it’s cold and he tightens his grip just a tiny bit. “if you get sick i will have to deal with it and i will not miss work over this.”
thinking about . . . “i told you so,” he sighs when he tests your temperature with the back of his hand, warm to the touch. you sniffle weakly as he blows on the soup he’s bought before he gives it to you, testing to make sure it’s not too hot. “it’s almost 10, you should get ready for work,” you say around a spoonful. his brows furrow and he looks mildly offended at the suggestion. “i will be staying right here.” “i thought you said you couldn’t miss work.” “the fever has made you delirious.”
thinking about . . . how he remembers everything you say. you think he’s just saying ‘mhms’ and ‘yeahs’ with brief nods of his head for show, only for you to get caught unawares when he brings it up later. “oh this thing? hmm you mentioned it earlier ago. when? a week ago or so.”
thinking about . . . teaching you how to hold and use a scalpel. his chest is pressed to your back, voicing instructions into your ear and he guides you how to hold and use it. “control comes from the fingers not the wrist,” he says, adjusting the angle. “just like that. you look so well listening to me.”
nsfw
thinking about . . . how cruel he can be even in public. his fingers would mindlessly thumb over the controls, the bud of the toy against your clit jumping to life randomly during your outings. the little fucker gives you a knowing grin, faux concern pouring from his lips as he tucks a stray hair behind your ear. “oh my dear, why has you looking so red? i’ll have the waiter bring us a cold water.”
thinking about . . . how he mostly likely has written notes of your anatomy buried in a locked drawer. he’s noted down all the things that make you make you come undone, what’s makes you arouse, where to bite and touch you; he knows your body more than his own hands. probably has fantasized hypothesized ways to make you dumbed out for him.
thinking about . . . cockwarming him as he tries to teach you something. he taps on the document, asking you to repeat back to him what it says but your words are broken between a string of moans, his cock pressing impossibly deeper when he’s gives an imperceptible shift of his hips. he isn’t in a rush either, willing to tease you until you get it right. moments when you almost correctly recite the passage, he would buck into you, forcing you to restart again.
thinking about . . . phone sex when he’s away for days on work trips. he’s instructing you what to do all the while his voice remains steady like he’s answering a work question.
