PLEASING: A Specific look into the pearls
Someone enhanced me to check into the relationship of the pearls in Pleasing and the oysters.
For me it perfectly fits in this concept -not just in the new beauty brand, but that one Harry is constantly signaling- of blurring limits between “standardized” genders, he clearly represents gender fluidity.
Within my interpretation of standing under the moonlight, as a metaphor for the period we are witnessing and Pleasing being related to its influence in tides and the sea: A mermaid and a fish as main characters; I find interesting to focus on a specific item: the pearls.🧜🏼♀️🐟
The crowns on top of the nail polishes and the ones contained in the serum are clearly linked to these valued treasures. And where are those generated? Inside Oysters. Oysters are mainly born male, but due to biological surveillance some of them transform over time into female beings or even hold both sexes at once. Again, the gender fluid reference.
It was interesting to discover that what these two special guests coming from the fairy tales from the bottom of the ocean bring into land these pearls (in pink, blue and white…again). 🧜🏼♀️🐟Pearls that are made of nacre, which is the main essence to the actual Pleasing products.
WAIT❗️Is that the meaning of his pearl ring? A pearl birth from the sea waves, from an oyster?
