The Dragon Prince

Concept design for the Celestial Elves, one of the races in Vulkri.

This is an ancient race and the source of much dismay, being the ones to - among other things - nearly wipe out the Ulvaki race. They are extremely magical beings hailing from the floating archipelago of Ay’al Kir. They grace the surface world with their presence every so often, their bejeweled and expertly crafted caravans drawn by giant, feathered beasts with long, twisted horns that have been painted in shimmering hues. 

The celestial elves themselves are tall, lanky and ethereal. Their gender can be very difficult to assign both from physical appearance and tone of voice. Their colors vary but are always a very soft and light hue. Their hair is almost always lighter than their skin and in daylight seems to have a dim glow to it. Their eyes can have any color, even pitch black. Their pupils are always white. They often bejewel their skin and hair, and most have extravagant clothes and jewelry.

They see themselves as higher beings and act accordingly. It is an entire race with the wealth, posture and demeanor of nobility. While their floating islands are rich with magically charged gems, crystals and ore, the islands lack the general building blocks of society; rock, wood, clay and the like. The material they can get from the island is too light and soft to build with. This means that they must - much to their distaste - trade with the surface world. They do so begrudgingly and take utmost care in touching as little as possible while down there. 

Most celestial elves have one or several vali with them, some clearly more abused than others, even within the same ownership. These canine people do most or all the handshaking, lifting and carrying. 

Most celestial elves are Lawful evil or Lawful neutral.
