4.5 miles in 45 minutes with @naomi_gal and @pretty_penny_puppy! . . Pen literally refused to do more than a quick walk, probably because she always concerned about my recovery!! Naomi and I chatted about paces and expectations {personal} and perception when it comes to running. This year I’ve logged more faster miles than ever before, and yes, my race times have gotten dramatically faster, but I need to remember that I was STILL a sub 4 marathoner {3:57:10 at MCM 2014} when I did ALL of my training in the 11-12 minute/mile range. And even last years 3:44:45 was the result of learning to negative split, learning to pace, and 90%** of my training miles in the 9:45+ range! Big goals have a way of scaring you into thinking you’ve got to do something more than put the work in.
