I just wanted to talk about how passive-agressive and somewhat rude the Characters are in the original books (i loved it by the way it felt like kids talking to eachother irl) like when Pooh visits Rabbit and he tries to pretend there isn't anyone home gosh i loved it
I completely agree. I think the element of "heavy attitudes" (within the context of the innocence of the consequences in that world) is one of the most important layers of Winnie the Pooh.
Everything feels... much more NATURAL.
We all know Rabbit is a perfect example. This animal embodies a literalism guided by "functional and important things," leading him to respond to others with cold or emotionally distant phrases (never considering the consequences, because the other characters are too incredulous). That's one of the reasons I love him so much.
But I'd even venture to say that Eeyore also includes many witty and sarcastic comebacks in his numerous dialogues.
(Below, I share my favorite excerpts from dialogues/situations that deal with this topic).
I don't think I'll ever be completely satisfied with Disney's work on WTP (excluding the obvious focus they've given it on the stage), because they censored it SO MUCH that it no longer has those interactions (which contain sharp, double-edged comebacks).
I think they looked at Pooh and assumed everyone was equally naive. Well, sure, they showed that, but they TOOK IT TO AN EXTREME; Rabbit is the most "grumpy" character of all (they took away Eeyore and Owl's grumpy attitudes).
Oh wow turns out the proshipper who's into incest & pedophile shit is also pro-genocide. You're disgusting, go get some therapy.
Yeeah genocide, I love it, I do it every day and night duck yeah و🤩 ٩
I take advantage of this publication to also post my drawing pedophile, I hope you guys like itt 🫶✌

RARE MOVE: The US House of Representatives has censured Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the Palestinian American Democrat, for her rhetoric in the wake of Hamas’s Oct. 7 invasion of Israel, including using the term “from the river to the sea.”
The 234-188 vote saw 22 Democrats vote to censure Tlaib. Some Democrats vehemently defended Tlaib’s right to free speech and others said the “From the river to the sea” term signifies the elimination of Israel. - ToI
