Chapter 1013 — Big Mom’s Anarchy

Interesting chapter this week around. Not as fun as last week, but interesting revelations nevertheless.

First, we get our first glimpse of Big Mom’s new homie, Hera! I already like her. And the combined force of the homies’ power is quite something, taking down Ulti (who is a sturdy piece of work) without much effort.

I really hope she gets up again so Nami can finish her off, though! Page One against Usopp, Ulti against Nami, anyone?

Doesn’t matter why you were created. You didn’t ask for it, you owe no-one zilch.

Those critical reasoning skills, Zeus? Clear area of improvement.

Love Tama’s surprised face there, as well.

However, if we cast our minds back to chapter 875...

...eating a lot of weather eggs does interesting things to Zeus.

We’ll have to wait and see how this goes!

Once again a sign of Big Mom’s childish view on life. Tama is being carried by Usopp, so she’s literally not running away on her own. Although she tells Big Mom that Nami and Usopp are her friends, for all she knows they could have kidnapped her.

But no: “you are heading away so you are leaving me”. It’s the same as they tell Zeus when he tries to join them again: “where were you, why did you leave us”, although there wasn’t much he could have done against the combined might of Law and Kid’s powers.

And speaking of Kid:

I love the chaotic tulip punk gremlin.

He is ma fave.

It also seems like Kaido really started to respect Luffy as an opponent.

Interesting wording here (I wonder if it’s the same in the originals) with Kaido saying “humans always cling on to faith [...] in a way they can’t afford to lose it”, implying that he’s not, or doesn’t consider himself to be, human. Something to do with the horns and insane stamina and all?

So, now we’re up against some interesting speculation — will the act end in the apparent tragedy of Luffy’s defeat (and possible other losses, like the scabbards, other supernovas and so) or will Luffy be picked up by, for example and by the great insight of @chromatic-lamina, a passing random crew of submarine-carried pirates with a heart motif, and join the fray straight away? Where will Yamato go? What do Momo and Shinobu find out? Will we ever see Robin and Black Maria fight? Will sausage-Zoro be left somewhere, leaning against a wall? Now that Chopper has cured Queen’s virus, will he join the main fight? Where is Bepo?

Interesting times!
