Chapter 1013

Ah, you know how Oda gets you choked up over ships. Well, same goes for brave little clouds.

Mama, Prometheus and Napoleon have rejected Zeus claiming he’s an airhead (Nami agrees later). But Prometheus’ real aim in having Mama create Hera was so he could get a girlfriend. Hera’s response is:

Too bad! 

Zeus feels the worst kind of schoolyard-rejection times one thousand, because he’s made from part of Mama’s soul and she isn’t letting him go, even though she doesn’t want him either. 

 Big Mom offers Zeus as a snack to Hera to strengthen her and, in the scans at least, Hera calls him Zeus-Senpai, all the while planning....(more after the cut) 

...to eat him. Poor little cloud.

Zeus tries to find refuge with Nami (panels above), but he did try to kill her before, so she’s not having any part of it. But we know Nami, I think it would have been so she had the greater bargaining power. 

Finally, Zeus knowing that he was going to die anyway (also above), offers up his life (especially as Big Mom has just taken Tama in the way that she took Brook, as a cute addition to her collection of sentiment beings. This collection includes her children). 

Zeus doesn’t do such a good job, but it is a distraction, and Nami sends some of her thunder balls, are they? Zeus’ favourite snack, his way to help save him. But Mama’s already squeezed his life spirit out of him, and the new homie gobbles hims up.

But it is enough of a distraction, cos’ by now Usopp has Tama thanks to Zeus acting as a decoy, so his sacrifice was not in vain.  Nami and Usopp are hotfooting it out of there with Big Mom zeroing in on them with the super-homie-charged Napoleon.

Big Mom showing how her “compassion” works. Earlier she stated that she hated being deserted (see above). The dangerously childish part of her is portrayed really well. And that intervention from Zeus was also enough for

the contraption above to appear out of nowhere (Law is heading this direction too). And of course it belongs to

the guitar-brand-naming Eustass

Captain Kiiiid! Big Mom shakes her way out of that attack pretty easily (above). More angered than ever, but look how happy Nami is. I think she and Kid could definitely become besties. But she was ready to be besties with Ulti and Big Mom last chapter too! Opportunities to cheat death and injury have that effect.

Meanwhile, up on the roof...

“Luffy falls. What’s going to happen to Wano?” the narrator asks. Kaidou’s words about everyone having blind faith unless he showed them Luffy’s head are good ones, but to answer the narrator’s question, maybe he’ll get picked up by these guys:

This is my hopeful answer to nearly everything, if you haven’t figured that out yet.

Though more likely that Yamato’s gonna find a way to intervene. Got two weeks or more to find out.

Nami’s smack down of Ulti was awesome too. As was the combined attack from Big Mom and her homies. Ulti’s out of commission for now.

Okay with a big tank that they have on the ship I know it's possible to have a shark within it but that's not my concern my main concern is how in the world were they able to catch it is what I want to know

Wow, Great job Kid! I doubt he did much damage, but still. Being able to delay Big Mom is somewhat impressive on its own.
