since i’ve finished reading cog2 (and i know a bunch of you guys have too) i’ve been dying to talk about everything that happened. so, i put together these questions! send me some and i’ll answer them!!

all i’m saying is if a ghost i’d met ten years ago suddenly reappeared in my life and i discovered i was the only one who could see him and we started to develop a relationship ... i wouldn’t be mad about it

so i just reread the scene where grace asks jamie to sneak into blackthorn manor as a shadow to steal her bracelet from her and the manipulation just JUMPS out at you. i am seething.

deadass, with everything that happened in the last few chapters of cog2 i forgot that Sona is pregnant

now that i’m reading cog2 for the second time (yes ik i literally only finished it this morning, but come on can you blame me?) there are so many obvious details that are jumping out at me that i can now connect thanks to the epilogue.

like the scene where tatiana asks jamie to cut the briars at blackwood manor. why the hell would she need her briars cut in the evening? she wasn’t going anywhere. how did she know when to come over? how did she know will and tessa wouldn’t be in her way? why would she give jamie a super dull pair of garden shears if she actually wanted those things cut down?

the first time i read it i was like, well tatiana is batshit crazy so even though this is weird it’s not necessarily weird for her. plus, it could have just been coincidental that will was so preoccupied with his parents deaths. and she hates herondales so it makes sense that she’s basically set james to some impossible task just to get some kind of satisfaction in wasting his time.

but now i’m 100% sure that the entire thing was orchestrated. i’m not totally sure whether belial was actually responsible for the deaths of the herondales or if he was just waiting for a good distraction and they actually did die of influenza. either way i’m positive he told tatiana that they’d died and that will and tessa would be too preoccupied to notice jamie over at her house or to even notice tatiana knocking on their door and basically hiring their son as a landscaper.

why go through all of this trouble though? tatiana has been playing the long game ever since jesses death three years earlier. she’s fully prepared to go as long as she needs to finally bring him back. but if tatianas playing the long game then i don’t even know what we can call belial’s game. i mean he raped tessas mother, waited for tessa to grow up and have kids, and then waited for those kids to be just old enough to actually start his work. so this was basically their way of orchestrating james and grace’s (not so) meet-cute. it was all planned. grace was given specific instructions to let james get super annoyed and then float in and save the day in order to start a relationship w him. then they’d grow closer and closer until he finally cared about her enough to steal that stupid bracelet.

i literally hate this woman sm i can’t even explain it. i’m on page 40 and i am absolutely seething.
