What really pains about me about this is that for Min, the worst possible outcome is Samin crying BECAUSE of him. Not for her to hate him, but for her to be sobbing. It shows his almost childlike innocence and naïveté when it comes to her, paired with the fact Samin is the closest thing he has to a mother figure… Almost like those kids pleading: “Mom, please don’t cry…”
Honestly, I don’t think we were shown this simply because Min HATES Sayeon - in my opinion, this is just a representation of Min’s innermost, most repressed intrusive thoughts - killing Sayeon, perhaps because he thinks that then she won’t cause Samin pain anymore (and he’ll get to monopolize all of her attention), while still knowing that this would make Samin the most sad.
All in her all, I (obviously) don’t think he truly wants to kill Sayeon. We have seen from previous chapters that his feelings towards her are complicated - an entanglement of respect, jealousy, (maybe) anger and all the messy things in between.
