Spent the last three months working on this character for class, based on Tony DiTerlizzi’s art for the Spiderwick Chronicles. I grew up on these books and the illustrations were always a huge inspiration to me (some of my earliest drawings are from them), so when we had the chance to choose what characters to make for the assignment I couldn’t resist doing one of them :)

Renders, the ZBrush sculpt and the original art that I referenced.

Apologies for the inactivity, I've recently gotten a job as a 3D character artist in the games industry (!!) so I'm too busy for sense right now. Either way, here's a guy I modelled, retopologised and rigged. Enjoy looking at his face! Somehow, I handpainted him Warcraft-style using only a USB mouse...
