love that the start of the seaside fiction is like "narcissus... such a model of cynicism and grace, never letting too many emotions show..." and then the rest of the fiction is narcissus experiencing the full range of human emotions and being a huge dork

#like. i'd say that orpheus isn't *really* the narrator of seaside it's just that the actual narrator only knows his thoughts & not the other #character's #but the way things are described sometimes are so biased that it can't really... not be orpheus if that makes sense #anyway. narcissus is so stupid and i love him so much #jay says words #the mechanisms #udad
