worldbuilding thing for my rewrite; the cabins:
all the cabins kind of act like magical apartments, theres a main 'common room' and bathroom, and then (depending on how many demigods there are) a hallway and/or doors leading off the main room, that lead to individual demigod bedrooms
the exceptions to this are the poseidon and hermes cabins; hermes: this rule still does mostly apply, but only to the claimed children of hermes. they all have their own rooms, while the unclaimed/minor god demigods stay in the common room. some hermes kids will bring extra mattresses/beds into their rooms to share, or room with their siblings (like the stolls) but its not required and only a few do this poseidon: there are three camps in america, each one 'dedicated' to one of the big three kids, where they go to separate camps. zeus' kids go to the new york camp, poseidon kids to louisiana, and hades kids to oregon. because we are specifically talking about the new york camp and not the louisiana camp, poseidons cabin does not have the magical 'bigger on the inside' apartment stuff that the other cabins have, instead only having beds that pop up when there is a child of poseidon there. these beds are intended to be temporary before the demigod moves to louisiana.
the cabins, like previously mentioned, are bigger on the inside (think tardis vibes), and is connected to the god's domain, which is why rooms are only created for the claimed children of that god. poseidon himself put the beds there for tyson and percy because there were no beds originally, and there would be none that popped up because his influence isnt connected to that cabin
