An oldie but goodie! Cheerilee and Big Mac had remained friends after the love potion debacle. They drifted apart as life went on. Still greet each other when they pass by. Big Mac had gotten with Sugar Belle for awhile. Very lovey dovey sugary romance. He and Sugar Belle were happy. That is until Sugar Belle's attention shifted. She began to focus on herself and career since she was under Starlight's control for so long she had lost herself. This included traveling more to different areas to learn bout baking, supply & demand, etc. Big Mac was happy on the farm and loved his family. He enjoyed his small town and all that it had to offer. They tried to make it work, but it wasn't meant to be. Sugar Belle and Big Mac wanted different things in life. Sugar Belle wanted to travel, create her own bakery, make a name for herself. Big Mac wanted to stay close to his family, tend to the family farm, enjoy the life he has. Sugar Belle didn't want to have kids. Big Mac did. So he and Sugar Belle had a long heartfelt talk. They decided to break it off for the best. Sugar Belle gave one last kiss to Big Mac before she departed. They do send each other letters though, when they can. Big Mac was feeling pretty down. Threw himself into farming, bucking, the like for a good long awhile. AJ got super concerned for his health. Ordered him to take a breather; Apple Bloom then had the idea to ask her bro to help her with the Applewood Derby. Get his mind off things. So he did, and this is how he ran into Cheerilee running the derby. He had fun hanging out with his sister and helping her build her kart. The rule still stands that only the fillies and colts can drive it. So Big Mac watched his sister race. Cheering her on feeling at ease for just a moment. Cheerlie sits down next to him. She tells him she hasn't seen AB smile this much in a few months. Mac is taken aback cause he's seen his sister smiling. Then it hits him. Cheerilee pats Mac on the shoulder saying that it's ok, break ups are hard. Mac is just 'how da heck?' Easy explanation is given: everyone knew. He and Cheerilee watch the race quietly. AB came in second place so she's stoked. Hops over to her bro hugging him with a grin. Later on Big Mac is helping clean up when he overhears his sister talking. Looks to see it's to Cheerilee and AB says, "that was a great idea Miss Cheerilee! Mac was so happy!" Mac catches Cheerilee the next day before her class started. He asks her what AB meant; Cheeri tried to deny it but confessed to the truth. She's seen how upset AB was and had talked to her bout what was going on. From there she offered the idea up to the filly. Said she wanted to see them both happy. Mac thanks her for it. Cheerilee smiles and says cheekily, "anything for you sugar bear" Big Mac does a double take before letting out a hearty laugh. After this, Mac starts to reign himself in. Jumps back into game night with Spike & Discord again, hanging out with his little sister more, going to the market, enjoying the day, helping Cheerilee at the school, walking AB to and from school, walks Cheerliee to the school, has a picnic with Cheerilee on her days off, helps AJ with delivering apples. Gets a delivery partner to help with a large load. It's Cheerliee who needs something to do during the summer break. Cheerliee brings over a spare drink she had when she got lunch. She walks Big Mac back to the farm. Buys more apples than usual. Joins the game night when she heard it from Big Mac. Helps around the farm. Oh it's hearts and hooves day, they decide to spend it together cause they were going to anyways. Have a picnic at his parents' tree at sunset. They're there in spirit. Laughing about the H&H day incident thanks to the crusaders. Begin talking bout their life goals and dreams they have. Which fall perfectly in place together. A quiet moment falls between them. They kiss. No love potion this time. Mac and Cheerilee date for a few years before marrying beneath the Apple-Pear tree.

Meet Apple Butter! She's a huge sweetheart and tbh I love her so much??? She's trans and gets immense support from all of her family and friends, no questions asked. She discovered she was trans when she was just a young filly and after a long time of keeping her gender a secret she brought it up to her parents. Big Mac and Cheerilee were obviously very supportive and immediately told her that no matter what, they would always love and support her. There were a lot of tears, and even a cutie mark that came out of it c; Her friends call her Abbie!
