General Chemistry
unit 1
|| BASICS ||
|| Core's Structure ||
Its made out of protons and neutrons. Those particles are ingridients of the core are known as nucleus. Owing to the fact that the neutrons are neutrally charged the core is possitvely charged.
Atomic Number (Z): the number of protons on the core of atom. Since an atom is neutral the number of protons is equal to the electron population, p=e=Z
Mass Number (A): the number of protons and neutrons on the core of an Atom. A=p +n
Isotope: Atom with the same Atomic number but different Mass number.
Radioisotope: artificial isotope
Isobaric: Elements with differet Atomic number and same Mass number
~The atom of an element is made of: 1. The core (protons/ p+ and neutrons/ n) 2.Electrons e-
Protons: Possitively charged particles and their mass is almost equal with the mass of hydrogens atom.
Neutrons: Products of neutralization of a proton and a electron, their mass is a bit bigger than p+. It is neutrally charged.
Electrons: An atom ingridient that was first discovered along with the upgoing radiation in 1859. It is negatively charged and it has charge the least possible 1.6*10^(-19)Cb. Its mass is 1/1840 of the proton mass.
|| ION ||-> Atoms or a number of atoms that are charged
Cation-> positively charged ion
Anion->negatively charged ion
~Compounds made of oppositely charged ions they are held by ionic bonds. The ones with same charged are called Colevant.~

Density -> Mass concentrations d=Mass\Volume
Mass-> its constant. Weight depends on gravity and differs acceleration a tiny bit from place to place.
(1.3)
|| Thomson's atomic model ||
It was the first model that existed and according to it the atom is formed by possitive and negative particles. The possitive charge is smoothly concentrated in a sphere in which the electrons move.
|| Rutherford's atomic model ||
According to it almost the whole mass, including the positive particle of the atom its concentrated in a central area which dominates the least space comparing with the whole atom, while the electrons move around it in defined orbits.
disclaimer: This post is to help me mostly understand the sh*t i am taught at university. I am no teacher or professor. Other than that i am glad to help <3

chemistry being my favourite science means more incentive to make notes,,, at least, after i finish all the homework i get set every day :(

When i was in high school i used to hate chemistry and mostly these kind of topics but right now i am having fun studying it (even when i cannot understand a thing)
Today I worked on chemistry (it's something like a pre-AP course) and was memorizing a bunch of ions and compounds :) The stuff from other studyblrs, like essential compounds actually helped! :)
