Prologue

Hinami’s pov:

"Mom! Dad!" I screamed from under the table in the kitchen, attempting to push the huge pile of bricks that fell off from the ceiling to get out.

"Hinami! Hinami darling! Stay there don’t come out! Stay there and don’t make any noises!" I heard daddy shout followed by a few screams. 

"Mom!! Dad!! Help me!" I covered my ears, unable to stand the screaming. I could see everything happening through a small hole. The titan had his grip around mommy and daddy was lying on the floor motionless. 

"Screw this shit!" I kicked the bricks. There’s no way I could let my mom get eaten by that beast. "Mom! Hang in there!" I shouted when I got out. I looked around for any weapons and found a few kitchen knives.

"Honey! Go back! I’ll-" Her voice was cut off. I could hear bones cracking. I turned back to look what happened. Mommy was still struggling to get out of the titan’s grip.  "Hey! HEY over here!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. trying to gain the titan’s attention. 

"Hinami what are you.. doing?!" Mom was out of breath. Her voice was wavering. "Go hide and run away. Don’t die.. Please Hinami.." Mom’s voice was going softer and softer, an obvious sign she was about to leave this world. 

"NO! I can’t!" Tears were streaming down my face. I ran towards the titan and stabbed its leg. "Let my mom go!" I stabbed repeatedly at its leg before I felt myself being lifted up. I turned my head towards the titan’s other hand where my mom was crushed in. She wasn’t moving anymore. Her eyes were looking upwards. No…

The titan brought me up and I looked at it in the face. “You heartless bitch..” I swung my knife in the air with both hands, ready to get revenge. But of course, it was impossible considering the size of it. I felt its grip tighten and screamed. 

I tried bringing up my other hand with the knife and successfully stabbed the titan in its face. Apparently, it was a bad choice, because it screamed out and dropped me. I fell on my side and it felt as if my rib had cracked. 

I could hardly breathe. The last thing I saw was a bunch of people wearing the survey corps uniform before black dots clouded my vision and I completely blacked out.
