Cheshire and Roy! with Lian, of course.
Mostly Roy. Jade has a habit of forgetting that not everyone lives on the same special diet she does, so she normally only buys what she and Lian need. Besides, Roy pays more attention to expenses and knows a thing or two about money saving and whatnot.
Initially it’s Roy because Jade can’t be bothered to give a damn about them. As long as they’re not poisonous, it’s no big deal to her. Roy, however, is often worried that Lian will find a spider and stick it in her mouth or something, so he not only hunts down and exterminates all spiders but he also cleans the entire place inside out and makes sure no small critters can get in. Later on Lian grows old enough to know she should not be sticking everything she finds in her mouth and, after years of bearing witness to her father’s merciless tirade on spiders, decides to make it her job to kill them herself. (It’s all just a game to her, though she repeats all the threats and swears Roy would whenever he went after them.)
Maybe Jade did the night Roy told her that Kaldur killed Artemis. Maybe she also did a lot of lousy stuff while inebriated which lead to an argument between her and Roy the next morning. A small one only, because really, who was he to lecture anyone for going off like that after one of the worst days of their lives? Beyond that, though, I don’t think this happened very often while they had Lian with them. Maybe sometimes Roy came back from spending time with his old teammates and couldn’t get the key into the lock. Maybe sometimes Jade abruptly threw herself in their bed after returning from God knows where. But it’s not a habit or anything common, and it’s never so much that they don’t have control of what’s going on.
Roy does it a little more often than Jade, I think. Aside from making some oatmeal or wheat cream with cinnamon for Lian, Jade’s idea for breakfast is normally a hellish-tasting protein shake. Roy isn’t one for stuffing his face, but he still feels like that’s pretty damn ridiculous. Like one could afford to have some scrambled eggs with red bell peppers and cilantro, bacon and toast, or maybe some pancakes with jelly or syrup on top. As long as Lian is happy and well-fed, Jade frankly doesn’t really care what Roy insists on cooking. If anything, watching him do so is super entertaining what with nothing but his undergarments under the apron, his bed-head, the movements of his bare arms while stirring the pots, etc. Perfect way to start the day.
remembers to feed the fish
Lian! She loooooves her fishies. She always, always, always remembers when it’s time to feed them and her parents already know to help her do so because the last time they tried to get her to wait for them to feed them, she tried to do so herself and accidentally dumped nearly the entire contents of the container.
Lian and Jade. The more Lian grows, the more creative and demanding she gets, whereas Jade feels the need to change the place’s layout every few months. It’s no skin off Roy's nose. Admittedly, he does enjoy hearing his two special ladies discuss why the sofa looks better on the North end than against the East wall, as well as listening to Lian’s laughter whenever he drags the sofa around with her still on it.
Lian again. The more she learns to talk, the more she likes to sing. Whenever she gets in the zone, she tries to coax the closest parent into singing with her and of course they do. The one who didn’t get roped into it will tease the other when they’re in bed later at night, though Roy’s a little kinder about his teasing than Jade.
To be honest, I tend to think that their schedules don’t match up all the way through. I think Roy gets up early in the morning and then turns in relatively early (at least as early as superhero will ever get to go to bed). Jade, on the other hand, has an irregular schedule consisting of her taking short naps at odd times of the day, which stack up to the necessary eight hours. Because of this, she often ends up all night and part of the morning. Kind of based on a routine she kept while with the League of Shadows (unfortunately, old habits die hard).
