Traditional Chickpeas Hummus: Hello Foodies, Hope you all must be enjoying this quarantine time with your family. Here I have this delicious and healthy recipe for you to snack on with your baked breads, chips and Roasted Vegetables. Let’s see how to prepare this and you can make a batch ahead and keep it good in a fridge for a week or freeze it for about a month. So let’s begin: Ingredients: For Hummus: -1 cup chickpeas soaked and boiled - 3-4 cloves of garlic peeled - 4 tbsp oil (preferably olive oil) - salt to taste - red pepper or paprika powder (optional) - 2 tbsp tahini - 2 tbsp lemon juice or adjust to taste For Tahini: - 1/2 cup white sesame seeds - salt to taste - 2 tbsp oil Process to make Tahini: -In a pan dry roast the sesame seeds until dark golden brown. Let this cool down and in a food processor blend it smooth with salt and oil. Do not add water and make it a smooth consistency. If required add little oil. This can be stored in fridge for about 2 months. Process to make Hummus: -In a food processor blend altogether the chickpeas, salt, pepper powder, garlic, lemon juice, oil, tahini and some water ( now use the water in which you boiled chickpeas) and blend until smooth and creamy. If required add little water and drizzle some oil on the top. You can also sprinkle some paprika or top if you prefer. The oil on the top will prevent it from getting dry. Store in a air tight container. Enjoy this health dip with your family while playing a game or watching a movie or may be a series. Till than bye and see you all with another delicious recipe. Note: This can also be introduced to your baby after 6-8 months. Skip tahini if you are giving it before 12 months. Since chickpeas are high in iron it’s very good for baby and lemon will help absorbing the iron. So this is a healthy option to give it to your babies with some roasted whole wheat baked bread or some roasted Carrots or any other vegetable of your babies choice. #chicpeas #hummus #traditionalhummus #tahini #hummuswithtahini #iron #vitaminc #healthy #dip #snackideas #delicious #yummy #easyrecipes #potd #recipeoftheday #homecooking #stayhome #staysafe #likesforlike https://www.instagram.com/p/B-XvROmnPES/?igshid=1ktxrcrghuu9t
