I have this idea that just keeps rattling around in my head, but I have none of the skills to complete it.

Spider plants- you know those guys, right? They grow like this

and all those little guys at the bottom will turn into new plants if they touch soil. They'll often stay connected to the parent plant for a while.

Anyway, imagine a hanging spider plant pot that looks like a planet (maybe Jupiter)- like a sphere with the top 2/5ths cut off. Then there are a bunch of "moons" also hanging around this pot, each of which is a little pot. As the spider plant sends out shoots, you set them in the little pots to grow.

Alternative version, ground based: like a duck pot with little ducklings for the shoots. I know that one is cuter and easier, but I just really like the idea of the plants all hanging there, in a weird orbit, because they're kind of weird plants when you think about it.

A common houseplant Chlorophytum comosum 'Variegatum' (spider plant, spider ivy) is often neglected but here it has been beautifully grown and displayed so the cascading plantlets can be appreciated.
