Enjoy these rich vegan Nutella truffles that have been flavored with Frangelico liqueur. These truffles are a delicious treat for any event. They are made with roasted hazelnuts and cocoa powder.
Ingredients: 2 cups hazelnuts, roasted and skinned. 1/2 cup cocoa powder. 1/2 cup maple syrup. 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted. 2 tbsp Frangelico liqueur. Pinch of salt. 1/2 cup vegan chocolate chips, melted for coating. Chopped hazelnuts or cocoa powder for coating.
Instructions: Put the roasted hazelnuts in a food processor and pulse them until they become smooth, like butter. With a pinch of salt, mix in the cocoa powder, maple syrup, coconut oil, and Frangelico liqueur. Mix until everything is well mixed. Put the mixture in a bowl and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes to make it firm. When it's firm, take tablespoon-sized pieces and roll them into balls. Put them on a baking sheet that has parchment paper on it. For about 15 minutes, freeze the truffles to make them set. While you wait, melt the vegan chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler. When you take the truffles out of the freezer, dip each one in the melted chocolate so that they are all covered. Sprinkle chopped hazelnuts or cocoa powder on top of the truffles after putting them back on the parchment paper. Put the truffles back in the fridge for another 15 to 20 minutes to let the chocolate coating harden all the way. Serve and enjoy once it's done! Any truffles that are left over should be kept in the fridge in a container that won't let air in.
