What are you focusing your attention on? The aggravation of a traffic jam? Instead replace that negative energy into positive energy. Turn up the radio, enjoy the view, smile at the other drivers, sing too loudly and enjoy the moment you're living in because each moment is never guaranteed. Be grateful you have a car to be stuck in and you don't have to walk to work in the rain. Focus on the blessings in your life, counter your negative thoughts with positive ones and you'll see your life begin to transform. Look at the energy surrounding you. Is it feeding your spirit or draining it? The power of thought is powerful and the type of energy you focus on will end up manifesting into your reality. What type of life and environment are you trying to create? Pick a card reading for the New Moon in Capricorn

New Year, new moon, and new tarot cards! Just for fun, and because I want to start posting more, I’m trying something new and doing my first “Pick a Card’ tarot reading. The deck is The Elemental Power Tarot by Melinda Lee Holm.

New moons are for setting intentions, and the new moon in Capricorn is all about setting intentions for the new year. What do you want to accomplish this year? What changes do you want to make, and what steps can you take to create the life you want? Think about what this may mean for you, and then choose the card you feel most drawn to.

1. Three of Coins: This card is about teamwork and collaboration, and the satisfaction of a job well done. If you’re feeling stuck, it may be time to ask for help. Sometimes drawing on past successes and experiences isn’t enough, and it’s time to listen to another point of view. Be open to working with others, while being mindful of the group’s dynamics. We can’t all be the leader all the time. Know when it’s best to speak up, and when it’s best to listen to your teammates and be supportive.

2. Eight of Cups: With the new year just starting, now is a good time to do some soul searching. Are there any old thought or behavior patterns you find yourself stuck in time and again? Bad habits? Emotionally taxing relationships? What’s holding you back from success or happiness? To break out of those old patterns, you need to release what is no longer serving you and make peace with it so you can move on.

3. Ace of Wands: This is a time of new beginnings, inspiration, and new ideas. If there is a project or creative endeavor you’ve been thinking about starting, now is the perfect time! You have the power to create the life you want. Think outside the box, follow your heart, and trust your intuition. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there, and on the path to success.
