Thanks to everyone for the support and participation in the #chokaruiweek2026 doodle session! Special thanks to @twnj for their awesome work in detailing the Akimichi Initiation Ceremony, in which Choza welcomes Karui into their family; and Choji and Karui standing in the rain after the 4th War: "Rain washes away to reveal new beginnings."

I really love the "New Beginnings" prompt--bittersweet endings and memories, mixed with new starts and occasions. I believe one thing that goes unnoticed with Choji and Karui is how their insecurities are placed on them by others. The comments they receive are all things I've received at one point or another. But there's a time for everything: to heal, to love, and to celebrate with people who care about you.

It annoys me a little that the couple wasn't properly developed. I mean, in their interactions, Sai thinks Ino is ugly and says otherwise just because that's what he's been taught is right? And Ino is interested in him because he's a less controversial version of Sasuke? But they fall in love off-screen, and I don't see any chemistry there. But I like their son.

i have a hc that hinata is the one who introduced karui and chouji, and somehow that blossomed into a mini au in my head where neji lives and ends up crushing on atsui. he's horrified by this

neji: no lady hinata you don't understand it's terrible-

hinata: crushing on a loud blond man. how could i possibly relate

neji: he's from kumo
