Even onis can get hit by a reaper's scythe
I once have a silly idea where oni kinds like Hoozuki can get injured by a grim reaper's death scythe. It didn't kill them, but can caused a pretty nasty injury and also revealing their cinematic record.
Poor Hoozuki, unlucky enough to get hit by a death scythe
In BoA, Undertaker views Ciel’s cinematic record and the audience is able to see part of what he saw, with R!Ciel cleverly being hidden due to the plot. Were others in that room able to see the record? I’m specifically wondering if Grelle saw, since she was later involved in the O!C versus R!C confrontation and reveal
Dear Anon,
I think it is fair to assume every supernatural entity (that was alive) in the room could see Sebas’ cinematic record.
In chapter 60 Grell cut some Bizarre Dolls to view their cinematic records, and while O!Ciel who is human could not see anything, Sebas could.
The very existence of reapers is to view any and every part of an individual’s life before reaping their soul; so it is not like this profession gives a single toss about anyone’s right to privacy. Therefore it also makes no sense that for viewing cinematic records one must actively ‘grant access’ to someone else like you give access permission via Google Drive for restricted files.
Even if so, it is unthinkable that such an anti-demon organisation would be able to grant a demon access even if they wanted to. Fair, it is possible demons are the exception and that even without permission, they can peek. However, even so I would argue that necessity for viewing permission among reapers themselves would constitute ill logic.
Let’s say reapers now do value human privacy for hypothesis’ sake. So far it seems like any reaper can be assigned to any deceased, meaning that EVEN IF special authorisation is needed to view records, all field-work reapers should have this authorisation already. Reapers are severely understaffed; if they need to be re-authorised for every case separately, it would be a major waste of time.
Another information that tells me reapers don’t need to be authorised again and again is that Grell has repeatedly played records even though those individuals were not on her death log. If authorisation is needed to view somebody’s record, then the one who grants it must first know what individual it concerns. And that would only be possible with names. Grell however, just cuts at random and is still able to play the records, meaning that there is no precondition to viewing records in the first place.
So yes, most likely Grell and Ronald both saw Sebastian’s record too.
About Grell’s presence during the twin confrontation, I personally wouldn’t think too much of it. Othello was decidedly not present during the Campania incident, but he was there during the confrontation too. And Ronald who was around is reversely not present.
I think the reason that they sent Grell and Othello is because the former is one of the few who could hope to stand a chance against Undertaker, and the latter because he is from the same "class” as Undertaker.
I hope this helped (*´ω`*)ノ⁾⁾⁾
Grell(e) ❤️❤️❤️❤️
“136649”
A little fanart I drew while thinking about new Kuro chapter~
And about that thoughs, I don’t know if I can call it a theory but well, it’s kinda weird heh
Remember that moment from “The Story of Will the Reaper” OVA when cinematic records “attacked” William and he saw all the memories? I just started to wonder what if this kind of events were canon in manga. There could be a chance that something similar happened to Undertaker/136649 while he was still working as a Reaper. And if those records belonged to one of Phantomhives could this be the reason why he’s so interested in this family~?
Anyway, it’s kinda late for me, so hope you’ll enjoy it~
Oh... so these are pieces of their cinematic records.. I see...
Why did I only notice this now...
A MOMENT I'M REALLY SAD WASN'T FEATURED IN THE MOVIE
2).......I guess that means reapers does still have their souls since the only way a demon can tell if the person is a reaper by their eyes and not by sensing their souls , i guess if they don't have one sebastian would easily tell that its not a human by sensing their soul's absence . Right ?
Yes, I think reapers must have souls. Reapers say bodies aren’t supposed to move without them…. The only reason Bizarre Dolls move without them is because they’ve been tricked into thinking they are alive, due to these altered cinematic records.
I do think there’s *possibly* something a bit *altered* about reaper souls and cinematic records, but they should have souls….
More evidence of this can be found in Kuromyu2. Yana-san created Eric and Alan. When Eric accidentally kills Alan, I believe it’s Sebastian who cruelly remarks this means Eric just collected his 1000th innocent soul. If Alan had a soul, then all reapers have souls.
And yes, Sebastian seems to detect souls *to some extent*…. He also detects people by their scents….
