Four Surprisingly Vegan Treats

Ever since going vegan, my sweet tooth has come alive. I was originally concerned because I didn’t think that vegan desserts were as common to come by. Then I found out about these vegan hacks and my life was forever changed.

McDonald’s Apple Pie

Can you believe the only vegan option at McDonald’s is their apple pie? However, I won’t ask too many questions about how this authentic apple pie is made without dairy. For only $1, I’m glad this isn’t one of those things that’s too good to be true. 

Taco Bell’s Cinnamon Twists

Cinnamon twists are the perfect light snack when you need something sweet to take the edge off. Because Taco Bells are abundant in Gainesville, you never have to look too far for a cheap sweet treat. 

Oreo Cookies

Oreos have become the treat I take to every potluck I attend, the treat I’m gifted on my birthday and the treat friends know to include at every gathering. Why? They are loved by many and their “cream” center is actually made of sugar, canola oil and high fructose corn syrup. Some of their limited edition spin-off flavors, which are also vegan, include birthday cake, lemon twist, s’mores, red velvet, pumpkin spice and more!

Burger King’s French Toast Sticks

These french toast sticks make me wish that Burger King served breakfast all day. Traditionally, french toast is made with egg which isn’t vegan. However, Burger King doesn’t mention any dairy or egg allergens on its ingredients list, which is a win for vegans.

Whenever I want a little sweet treat around town, I know the places to run to. Whether they are accidentally vegan or not, I take comfort in knowing that I can find these sweet options in not only Gainesville but also in nearly every American city I visit.
