I’m back with more doodles from my Au Earth 1515.

These are the doodles I forgot about. I have some more, but they are incomplete so I’ll probably be back with them later.

Helena Bertinellie, shows up a few times in Arkham Birds she plays a minor role and is Selina Kyle’s cousin. I just sto happen to have a drawing of her I forget about.

We’re also starting to take a look an non-Batfam charecters

After all we have the Shazamily. Billy Batson, Darla, Mary, Pedro, Eugene, Freddy Freeman. I’ve got a story to tell with them too. It’s about as pleasant as Arkham Birds was for the Batkids.

-you also get to see my very random headcannon of a gender-fluid Eugene Choi. It’s not a headcannon I take very seriously. Just one that’s a bit fun. It also has no reason for why, other than I felt like it.

We also have Artemis and Dona! (And Circie, she’s just here)

Artemis doesn’t show up a lot in this Au. She is mentioned several times and was a founding member of the Teen Titans on Earth 1515, but for reasons is no longer associated with them while Dona is still one of the organization’s leaders. Speaking of Titans.

Wally West -man I like bullying fictional characters- I got plans for him…and a half written fic. We’ll see what I manage to get done, but seeing as that picture is hidden behind a pice of paper glued into my sketchbook I’ll likely forget about it if I don’t post it now.

You know, in the context of the Marvel/DC crossover stuff I see popping up on your blog every now and then, particularly the ideas of Peter Parker being someone that the Forever People gravitate towards, or catching the attention of girls that could break his spine like a pretzel stick, and then adding on the bit of trivia that Wonder Woman's apparently based in New York despite usually operating on a more global stage from like a couple months back?

Honestly, Peter's life sounds like it'd be SO MUCH MORE STRESSFUL. Having to deal with his own share of rogues, sometimes being a tagalong for the Titans whenever they wander into New York or getting roped into cosmic shenanigans via his buddies The Forever People... now I'm imagining that Spider-Man almost definitely has, on more than one occasion, had to deal with some of Diana's more street level-adjacent Rogues causing trouble while Diana's on the other side of the planet or off-world, or worst case scenario, gets roped into some kind of mythological madness because he's stepped in to help Diana out with a fight against some of the heavy hitters among her Rogues or due to a more mundane reason, like one of the Olympians straight up looking at Spidey, going "I like the cut of his jib" and plucking him out of the aether to do their bidding because Greek Gods gotta be Greek Gods.

Circe: You're a Spider, aren't you? So this is actually quite appropriate. Mythology's greatest Sorceress, against the ultimate trickster.

Spider-Man: YOU TURNED THE ENTIRE FINANCIAL DISTRICT INTO FERAL HOGS AND SET THEM LOOSE ON DOWNTOWN.

Circe: *examining her nails* Appropriate, isn't it?

Spider-Man: *swinging off* I MEAN YEAH BUT I'M NOT HAVING A GOOD TIME.

Ok so I just finished reading volume 1 of Absolute Wonder Woman and it is amazing. The art is so good and I love it so much.

The last panel is especially interesting because it almost looks like that one Michelangelo painting (you know the one). Here’s the panel btw (sorry for bad quality picture)

My analysis is below the cut :)

I have a lot to say about this panel. First off, Circe’s hand (right) looks like God’s hand in the Michelangelo painting, but instead of having the hand downturned with a finger outstretched, Circe’s hand is fully upturned showing how she is willingly letting Wonder Woman go, rather than keeping her on the Wild Isle and keeping her in the “perfect” life they built. (I know their life is more nuanced than that but for the purposes of this just stay with me. And their life may not be “perfect” but being together is what a part of each of them selfishly wants)

Also the fact that Circe’s hand is fully upturned (in comparison to God’s hand which had a singular finger outstretched) shows how Circe isn’t doing this out of desperation or need but because she is choosing to. She is choosing to support Diana in her choice of helping the surface world.

Now Diana’s hand (left) is actually very similar to Adam’s in the original painting. Both of their wrists are bent slightly. This shows how Diana is returning to the human realm (she is representative of Adam in this panel, who is representing humanity as a whole in the original painting). She’s not trying very hard to stay because she can’t/ she needs to leave to go to the surface world.

It also shows how she can only return home for one month out of the whole year. She’s banished from her home like how Adam (and Eve) were banished from their home (the garden of Eden). Both were banished due to their perceived sin.

For Adam and Eve it was the fruit of knowledge that the omniscient God knew they would eat, and for Diana it was the sin of wanting justice; of not wanting to kill an innocent being; of wanting to see her mother, if only for one month a year. Can that really be called a sin? Or is that just what a God uses to cover his bruised ego and to try and cover up the conviction of a woman who he sees as both beneath him but also just as (if not more) powerful than him?

Also the way that their physical positions are reversed — Diana is standing upright, she’s actually floating above the island (almost like she’s in the heavens) and Circe is standing on the island below. This is a direct reversal of the original painting in which Adam was sitting down on the ground and God was stretching out from the heavens above. This reversal could show how Diana has a far greater physical strength than Circe, and so is floating above like God, but Circe has greater and stronger skills with magic, which is why she is on the right side, like God, in the painting but not in his physical position up in the heavens.

It could show how neither of them are fully as powerful as the Gods as they have divided up his physical attributes in the painting between them. Showing how his power is also divided between them.
