I’ve realised I haven’t made a pinned post! So here it is:

I’m Stell and I post a lot about DC, phm, Hermitcraft and the life series. I mainly reblog stuff but sometimes I post my art/ random thoughts too. I try to tag everything with fandom and character tags where I can.

Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.

He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"

"What?"

He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"

"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."

Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.

Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.

The Princess of Hell

I always thought that I couldn’t see the stars where I live because I live in the middle of a city and,well, light pollution, but today I decided to turn off all of my lights and actually properly look at the sky to see if I could see any stars at all and at first I thought that I could. If I really craned my neck and looked up I could see a smattering of small, little pinpricks of light. Of course, if I looked closer to the horizon I could see the tell tale flashing lights of planes but if I looked further up above I thought I could see the stars.

And then I really focused on what I thought were stars and I saw one of them flash red for a moment and then I noticed that all of them were really just flashing lights but they were so far away that you could barely tell. And I think it’s so sad in an almost bittersweet way that we’ve gotten rid of all the stars and replaced them with lights that only differ in how often they flash red with the lies of beauty.

Dick: *sees a group of children playing on the playground*

Dick: *in an Oliver Twist urchin voice* Father, why are they walking on the ground like peasants? Where are their butlers, Father?

Bruce: *spits out his mocha*

Dick: Father, are those The Poor?

Bruce: *trying not to laugh too loud because people are looking* Dickie, you can’t just say that-!!

Bruce ended up having to sit on a bench while Dickie ran off to play because he couldn’t stop chuckling every 10 seconds.

Dick as Batman is so funny to me because yes, he can emulate the Bat better than anybody, right down the dramatic working of the cape and his eerie mimic of the Bat's voice, but he's still Dick, he's still that very first Robin who is as quick with his words as he is with his movements.

A goon attempting to surrender after hitting Robin so hard he has a concussion: Wait! Wait! I'll tell you everything, just don't-

Dick, dangling the rogue over the edge of a roof: I already fucking know everything, dipshit

Goon: How? How could you-?

Dick: the fucking bats told me

This exchange begins a rumour that the bats of Gotham do indeed report to Batman, because, remember the Bat once vanished in a cloud of pissed off bats in the middle of the fucking day. When Bruce finally gets back, he's so confused when he overhears a mother threatening her kid that the bats will tell Batman he's misbehaving. Dick probably as a lot more to answer for.

Damian evolving from calling Bruce "Father" except not in a silly cute fun way where he calls him Baba but in a sad and heartbreaking way of having the only actual biological child he has start calling him "Bruce"

Damian doesn't mean it to come off in a negative way- he really and truly doesn't. It's just what the rest of his siblings call him, and he wants to be more like them and it's just so comfortable for them, so he starts doing it

Bruce pretends he doesn't mind, smiles and nods and when Damian says "Bruce please pass the peas" or "My day was fine, how was yours Bruce?" but a piece of him dies every time and he cried himself to sleep the first time it happened because fuck they all hate him
