A plant of upland pastures in the north of the UK Cirsium heterophyllum (melancholy thistle) was once used to treat 'melancholia' (depression). This clump-forming, spreading perennial has lance-shaped, green leaves with white-felted undersides.

Hero Form Appearance: A mixture of his usual getup and YuYuYu’s hero outfits. The outfit is predominantly thistle purple- especially in the top, tailcoat, and the pants. The purple is balanced out by green, black, and gray (Especially in the sleeves, shoes, and the gloves). The outfit also takes inspiration from street wear, as seen with the pants and sleeves being a bit baggy. The thistle’s petal silhouette is shown in the tailcoat, pants, shoes, and the sleeves. A single thistle in bloom serves as Yusuke’s hairpin, aka the only accessory.

Remembered this site exists again so heres one of the shots I'm proudest of from last year! Hemaris thysbe nectaring on Cirsium discolor, a native, biennial thistle thats much more mild mannered than the aggressively spreading invasive taxa, its also a favorite of bumblebees and goldfinches everywhere
