day one : repeating mythology history
angst warning 👌 no happy ending here lmao
i know i already did percalypso but another idea came and i couldn't resist-
so have them patroclus x achilles parallels
they have totally not been dating for a few months /s
charles is 100% supportive of silena's life choices and tries to offer advice where he can bc he does care about his friend
it was established from the start that they wanted to keep this secret a relationship
but it's a little rocky since, even if she won't admit it, clarisse is kinda jealous that charles gets to hang out with her own girlfriend more than she does
but they both have reputations to keep up
being in a relationship is great and all, but they knew their cabins wouldn't react well to.. who they were dating
silena likes to take the opportunity of their little meet-ups to make sure they're both okay. if there's anything they need to talk about regarding 'them', she wants it cleared up. because she's thoughtful like that <3
one night, they're beside the lake. it's quiet, save for clarisse sharpening a knife, lost in thought
"can you name one hero with a happy ending?"
silena frowned at her girlfriend's somber tone. she thought about it, but couldn't provide an answer.
clarisse stopped sharpening her knife, turning her head to get a good look at silena. her blue eyes reflected the water and the moon, and the billions of constellations in the sky above them. then, clarisse took her hand, lacing their fingers together; she made a promise
"well, i'm going to be the first. you know why?"
"it'll be because of you."
silena did know, however. and she absolutely hated it.
she hated every second she spent helping the enemy. but it went on for too long. she was dangling off the edge of a cliff, clinging desperately to a thread thinner than hair. but luke was holding the other end. she couldn't go back now.
not if it meant clarisse would find out just the type of person she really was.
but she knew she had to make things right. everything was going wrong on the demigod side and the titan side of the war.
it was an even scale; a calm before the storm, where one extra push from either side could ultimately tip the balance.
silena, dressed in her lover's armor, was the lightning, bringing a clueless ares cabin behind her.
was it a mistake? she wasn't sure. she was paying the price for something. but she couldn't think about what that was. not when her mind was filled with nothing but clarisse and regret.
when clarisse actually got there, the headache got even worse.
"no, no, no, no, stop, please, don't-"
"you're not supposed to.. not like this."
"you're gonna a hero, clarisse. you'll get your happy ending after the war, too. people will remember when you led your cabin into battle."
"but it wasn't me. it's all nothing without you. my happy ending doesn't exist without you."
