to celebrate the arrival of summer, the TWFSC is hosting a three month long creation challenge, open to everyone, with no time limits, no word counts, no pressure. just, hopefully, a little bit of chaos.
any and all creations are welcome - fanfiction, fanart, gifsets, picspams, meta, playlists, etc.
no generative ai. no exemptions.
nsfw and dead dove content is entirely welcomed, as long as it is tagged accordingly.
female characters and their relationships to each other must be central in your creation, but male characters can feature.
below the cut is a list of fandom tropes, dynamics and settings. each has a points value.
your challenge is to create fun and unique fanworks of all kinds that can tally up as many points by including as many of the below features as possible. as with all of our challenges, the stakes are low (there are none) and the possibilities are endless, and you are encouraged to think wildly outside the box. if you pick VAMPIRES, you can write the allydia vampire!au of your dreams, or you can write kira and malia watching interview with the vampire on the sofa. some notes:
you do not have to pick one from every category
you can pick multiple items from a single category
you can interpret the items as broadly as you see fit
the more points in a single work, the better, but there are no prizes here, no stakes, no pressure. the point is to encourage people to create outside the box, outside their normal themes and tropes, and to have fun with it!
for example: a trayden horror fanfiction, set in a historical setting, with witch!hayden caught in a time loop would be worth 60 points. a gifset of allison x lydia x kira as soulmates set in space could be worth 70 points. go crazy with it.

SOULMATE (15 points) i am personally obsessed with the increasingly bizarre and specific soulmate identifying circumstances found in fanwork. what do you mean you only saw in black and white until you saw her. does it count if its a photo or does it only work half way, like you see a newspaper clip and suddenly you develop red/green colour blindness.
ROYALTY (15 points) this could make a really good pair with a historic or a fantasy setting, or you could red, white, and royal blue it.
MEDIEVAL (20 points) i honestly feel like lydia could have really thrived in the 1200s. very court intrigue energy.
SENTINEL/GUIDE (20 points) you will pry sentinel/guide aus from my cold, dead hands.
PRISON (15 points) what if jennifer and kali had to share a cell? what if lydia recruited cora for her prison break scheme?
PIRATE (15 points) *insert booty joke*
HOSPITAL (10 points) high drama, high stakes, saving lives and having questionable workplace relationships in medical supply cupboards.
SPORTS (10 points) whether on the same team - sharing hotel rooms and gyms - or on opposing teams - intense rivalries that keep getting more and more personal - these are always fun.

Malia was never one to believe in random sayings or things people told her, sounding more bizarre to her than normal. The one thing she really didn't believe in was “love at first sight” specifically. She is judging without experience, really, but getting to know the person better makes sense. What, your eyes land on someone and boom, you’re head over heels? Nonsense!
She’d seen the way her friends would warm up to new people, flirt around before starting to date, that seemed like a more appropriate way to do it. So safe to say, she isn't interested at all in the feeling, no curiosity to satiate. Until she had slammed her locker closed and turned to her expected empty side, only to meet a new face.
Her eyes widened, breath stilling involuntarily. It was a girl, a very pretty one at that, sharp like a fox. With wavy, black hair that settled beautifully down her shoulders, petite and pale with almond shaped eyes. Malia blinked, registering the sudden tight but flourishing feeling in her chest. Like she was bewitched by her.
The girl turned to Malia with a sweet smile, a little inept but all with good intent. “Hey, I’m Kira. I guess we're locker buddies.” She spoke, gentle in her tone, continuing to organize her textbooks inside the locker. Opposite to Malia just shoving everything inside haphazardly and hoping it will all fit.
Malia finally moved her lips to shut as she lubricated her throat with a swallow, she felt her cheeks flush a little. Was she getting a fever? What kind of symptom is she getting?
“Uh. Yeah, locker buddies. Malia.” She stated like she was scrambling for words before reiterating, “Me, I’m Malia.” She chuckled awkwardly before clearing her throat and taking Kira all in. “You're new here?” She added to not look completely insane whilst staring at the pretty girl.
Kira nodded with a hum, smile still on her lips. She tucked her hair behind her ear, revealing a shiny, small but silver earring. The expanse of her neck on display as if Malia wasn't already gawking at the sight of her. She felt her fingers fidget with the heavy lock on her locker door, stomach churning with an unfamiliar feeling as she rubbed the back of her neck, a little sweaty now.
“Do you mind um, showing me around? I need to go to math class first.” Kira continued the conversation politely and met Malia’s gaze, her eyes a gorgeous brown, like caramelized sugar. Malia was getting a sweet tooth now.
“Oh! That's what I have next. I can um… definitely do that. Just don't expect notes from me, I’m horrible at math.” Malia spoke, a little self-deprecating, but it got a short laugh out of Kira—she felt her heart beat quicker and the smile on her face stretched wider.
“That's okay, I don't expect any help. I can handle math.” Malia nodded. “Okay, great! Uh, let me show you around… and tell you who to specifically avoid. There are plenty of assholes and stupid people to keep at a distance.”
Malia rambled, speaking rather quickly but Kira caught it all with ease. Part of the “love at first sight” deal was that it made the person move before thinking, which is why Malia’s fingers twitched and she reached out to hold Kira’s slender wrist in her own slightly sweaty palm. Bad idea, bad idea. She chanted in her head but her feet were already moving with purpose.
“Oh!” Kira only exclaimed in surprise but didn't protest, following along Malia and wherever she led the new girl. Malia didn't say another word, a newfound fear of maybe blurting out the wrong thing. What the hell is happening to me? She was so confused by her own thoughts, all surrounding Kira. Who she’d met about two minutes ago.
Malia’s afraid that this is what they meant by love at first sight… What are the goddamn chances?
Either way, Malia was determined to spend time with Kira even if it gave her detention or risked her doing something unexpected. She was glad they became locker buddies before someone else met her, and Kira only followed Malia around quietly for the rest of the day. Gentle and observant. A friendship and a crush blooming between them.
Malia’s already itching with cuteness aggression from holding Kira’s hand. Truly struck in the heart, like a sap.
