1. What made you ship it?

There is some really good fanart here on Tumblr for this ship that got me to enjoy them together. I’m also very much a “almost everyone in the league loves Barry” truther, but I try not to push that too much bc I don’t want to become like one of the batfam fans who makes posts about everyone losing their mind over how hot Bruce is lol. Specifically though, posts with Clark carrying Barry are what convinced me. They are too cute.

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

I do think they are just the politest men to ever exist, and I think that makes for such a fun dynamic. They both are so kind, and they both really value having people in their lives they connect with. I think there is also something to be said about them being a relationship in which neither have to hold back physically or mentally. Both can relate to one another's concerns with their powers, as both have had to figure out what they are capable of the hard way.

Overall, though, my favorite thing about them is how much they respect one another, and go to each other when they are facing hard times. They regularly search one another out when facing a moral conundrum, because both believe that the other can bring some clarity to their situation. They both think that the other knows what's best, and as so, rely on each other.

Also, idk, I love them being little midwestern guy together. They both say "ope" when they run into each other. They both grew up on country music. I specifically think Martha and Jonathan love Barry. I think Barry comes over to help them with their soil, creating a perfect PH balance for each crop, and I think they won't let him leave until he's devoured at least ten pies as a thank you.

ALSO also, anytime Barry hides behind Clark or his cape. I eat that shit up.

3. Is there any unpopular opinions you have on this ship?

I don't think I do, unless me hating the Snyder version of these characters, and therefor the ship version of them, counts. Ever time I try to read fanfic of these two cuties I have to clear out the DCEU stuff :/.

Barry/Clark safety suggestion; Ask Hal for floating containment bubble. It's a win win for everyone because he gets a show and earth survives.

LMAO Yeah that is a great idea! It would fall under the Lantern duty of protecting the planet at all costs and Hal would definitely be willing. It's worth a shot!

There's only a few problems that I can see with this scenario tho:

I'm not disputing Hal's willpower, far from it. But like....my man is gonna have to try and contain not just a Kryptonian but ALSO a SPEEDSTER. Who are gonna be really going at it. Most likely at near to full power. Hal canonically had trouble dealing with either one by themselves so, yeah the odds aren't exactly in his favor LOL

I don't know how well Hal can keep concentrating on making the bubble secure when his best friend and a hot alien are boning each other. Maybe Hal's built different and he might be able to hold it together during the show, otherwise it would be a really embarrassing and disastrous situation if the bubble popped just as Clark and Barry climaxed all on account of Hal taking a couple seconds for himself lmao

Also it would kinda depend if this is a JL poly universe or just ClarkBarry, bc if it's the latter then I can see them being not exactly thrilled with the idea of being exhibitionists 😂

Boykisser friday!!!

Clark’s name is… well… Clark. It’s a part of him. It’s who he is. Ma and Pa Kent named him, and he grew up as Clark. He’d sooner die than give it up.

But he’s also Kal-El. He was named at birth. That’s a part of him too. And it’s who he is, too.

But he was really only ever called two names.

Clark, and Superman.

It hurt. Kal-El was a part of him. And it was never used.

Well… except for one person.

“Kal?”

Barry… his Barry.

“I’m in here.”

It’s a couple of minutes. Even as a speedster, Barry’s extremely slow. Kal’s mouth ticks up in a smile as he peeks his head into the home office.

“Hey. Kal. Guess what!”

“Hm… I don’t know. What?”

“It’s boykisser Friday!”

“What?”

“Boykisser Friday.”

Kal rolls his eyes slightly, the smile growing wider

“Did you just make that up?”

“Of course not! Someone else did.”

Barry came over, waiting oh so patiently.

“Well… who am I to not participate in the festivities?”

Kal cupped Barry’s cheek, giving him a quick peck

“Kal-El! You can do better than that!!!”

“Ooh, full naming me? I’m wounded, Bartholomew.”

Barry shuddered at his name. He grabbed Kal’s face and kissed him properly.
