my only tip for freshmen is to never hang out with seniors. don't start smoking weed, don't hit a cart even once, don't vape under any circumstance. peer pressure is hard to navigate but i promise it will be worth it to avoid them.

once upon a time i was a freshman with senior friends who got me high, addicted to nicotine, and used the fact that i relied on them to keep my addictions going to take advantage of me.

I just randomly selected Ruth Benedict as the topic for my history final, because I'm an anthropology major and she just seemed cool, only to find out that she was not only a important woman antropologist in the early 1900s, but a PARTIALLY DEAF IMPORTANT WOMAN ANTROPOLOGIST IN THE 1900S WHO WAS PROBABLY GAY.

She's really similar to me, which makes it really fun to research her and what she's written!

What's ahead for BJU?

WutBJU predicted enrollment in the Fall of 2016, the Fall of 2017, the Fall of 2018, the Fall of 2019, and the Fall of 2022. 2016 and 2017 were a little optimistic. 2018 was just about spot-on, however. 2019 was very close! The predictions in 2022 were shockingly close.

The predictions in 2023 for the Vintage 2024 were too pessimistic, however. WutBJU predicted that BJU would have 1911 students pictured, and the calculated online Vintage total was 1998 -- 89 better than the algorithm expected!

So based on the class pic numbers, the 2024-2025 Vintage:

701 Freshmen 577 Freshman*** should be pictured (based on the proportions of class pic attendees and the typical difference between reported FTF and pictured Freshmen).

435 Sophomores should be pictured (based on the usual percentage difference between the previous year’s Vintage Freshmen and the next year’s Sophomores).

302 Juniors should be pictured (based on the usual percentage difference between the previous year’s Vintage Sophomores and the next year’s Juniors).

701 Seniors should be pictured (based on the usual percentage difference between the previous year’s Vintage Juniors and the next year’s Seniors).

That adds up to 2014.***

That’s 30 fewer than the Vintage 2023.

*** My apologies. I had reported an inflated number for the Freshman originally. The numbers have been corrected but I must add this caveat: These calculations have been based on the summer orientation numbers. These numbers are so slow that they don't adequately predict the next year's enrollment. We are in a state of flux.
