Cliff Carmichael Propaganda:
- He is literally number one in the Ronnie Raymond haters club. He hated him so much that he tried to sabotage him at one point but accidentally injured his own cousin. When he found out that Ronnie had somehow come back after he died, he found him and tried to torture him. Cliff's hatred for Ronnie Raymond cannot be explained, it must be experienced.
Alan Scott Propaganda:
- This old man is a hater through and through. He told Jesse Quick he was disappointed in her when she lost her powers. He put his daughter’s ex in an abusive mental asylum. He wasn’t there for his son. He stranded Hal on a yellow planet just to teach him a lesson. Truly one of the greatest assholes in the DCU
Firestorm the Nuclear Man was introduced in his own title (cover date March, 1978). The super hero, an amalgamation of high school student Ronnie Raymond and Professor Martin Stein, with the ability to alter the molecular structure of non-organic matter, was created by Gerry Conway and Al Milgrom. The issue also introduced Cliff Carmichael, Doreen Day, Danton Black (Multiplex), Eddie Earhart, Hudson Nuclear Power Plant, and Bradley High School. ("Make Way for Firestorm!", Firestorm the Nuclear Man 1#, Comic, Event)
the fury of firestorm #46, in which ed raymond fucks up spectacularly and his son apologizes to him for it, god bless. the contrast between ronnie’s father and his father figure is clear. one has trust in him and respect for him, and the other one’s his dad. happy father’s day.
Tomorrow is the last day to submit characters for the Biggest Hater poll tournament! There are currently 20 characters submitted:
Black Manta
Lex Luthor (3 nominations!)
Stephanie Brown
Edward Nygma (no propaganda)
Cliff Carmichael
Eobard Thawne (3 nominations!)
Lois Lane
Wally West
Great Caesar
Rudolph West
All Star Batman
Alan Scott
Guy Gardner
Darkseid (2 nominations, no propaganda)
Ra's al Ghul (no propaganda)
G. Gordon Godfrey
Major Force
Atrocitus
The Joker (no propaganda)
Oliver Queen (eliminated bc he was in the last tournament)
I don't think anyone is surprised that Lex and Eobard have the most nominations
As expected, the Batfandom has exceeded the three character limit with Stephanie Brown, Edward Nygma, All-Star Batman, Ra's al Ghul, and the Joker all being nominated. In this case though, each only had one submission, so for now the first three are the ones who are slated for the tournament.
The Flash fandom is right at the three character limit with Eobard Thawne, Wally West, and Rudolph West. Any additional characters from that fandom will need multiple nominations to take the place of either Wally or Rudolph.
The Green Lantern fandom is also at the three character limit with Alan Scott, Guy Gardner, and Atrocitus. Same deal with them.
Because I'm sure someone will bring it up, Major Force does not count as a Green Lantern character despite the fridge incident. It is certainly his most infamous crime, but he's beefed with a LOT of other characters. He counts as a Captain Atom villain.
The nomination of All-Star Batman also raises some previously unaddressed concerns about alternate continuity or multiversal characters. Going forward, we will consider them to be part of the same fandom as their main timeline counterparts, but they will be counted as separate characters.
Tournament Nominations - Please refrain from submitting more than one character at a time
DC comics presents issue 17, in which superman asks firestorm to join the justice league.
shoutout to killer frost, she kind of immediately took control of superman and would’ve gotten away with it if not for a self-loathing teenaged boy and a failed physicist.
