2. a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom
Okay so bottom line, I don't actually have one. But I'm thinking about it now specifically in the context of CJ/Andy, I think, and... like I just don't really think there's a strict top/bottom division there; they are both totally happy to wear that strap, okay, and while I could actually absolutely get behind the idea of Claudia Jean as a pillow princess, if she wants to, that's never how I've written her. (.. or like, stone top CJ in a more like trauma-informed experience kind of thing... but anyway). I do tend to imagine them, in that relationship specifically, more with Andy as a more dominant person in bed, and CJ more easily submissive? And that's kind of dependent on partners for both of them; and even with each other that's not a hard rule, but they're 'roles' they fall into more easily with each other? And I think for that, my main argument really would be their two potentially different (bc this is obviously all headcanon) relationships with control and pressure in their day to day lives.
Like then you have CJ especially in later seasons who has the weight of the world on her shoulders; everything goes past her, everything is her problem, everything is her responsibility, from war in Kazakhstan to her best friend lowkey committing treason to the President's nap schedule, it's ALL on her. And I think she could really benefit from getting to come home after a very long day and be taken care of; the ability to not have to think about anything for a while, not have to make any decisions, not have to be in control of anything. Just listen and obey for a little while, yknow?
Whereas Andy (again, she does not appear in season 6, we don't see her between Gaza and Welcome to Wherever You Are, this is entirely my own interpretation), I think could really do with having that genuine and loving kind of control over someone, really just anything in her life? Because in that same timeframe, she's just gone through a pregnancy which was so wanted but not easy, while in Congress, with her ex husband consistently trying to get her to change on her mind on marrying him; she's been raising twins mostly by herself while juggling Congress and working hard but like mostly having to hope, too, that the voters won't hold that against her too much. By season 7, she's on the verge of losing her seat not because of anything she did, but because the man she divorced eight years ago committed a felony. I don't think there are a whole lot of areas in her life where she really has real control over the outcome, it's just a lot of pressure and chance and we'll see, and it'd be nice to combine that with the ability to feel in control and valuable and important to someone purely because of things she actually does and chooses for that person. I think it'd work out nicely.
