It's pride month so unfriendly reminder that if you say "cishets dni" or anything of the like, you are straight-up unsafe for transitioned trans people, acearo people, bi/pan/omni people, and questioning and closeted people. We shouldn't have to tell you our sexual preferences or what our genitals looked like at birth for you to decide whether we're worthy of respect or not.
I’m still closeted irl to pretty much everyone in my life because I’m scared.
The only person I really trust is my therapist, so believe me when I say it’s okay to just be lowkey still. You don’t have to come out until you’re ready. ❤️
I made a closeted pride flag! It’s for people who wanna show pride but can’t use any of the more popular pride flags cause they’re. Y’know. Closeted.
The flag is completely free to use but please don’t refer to it as a pride flag. Hopefully it will keep it from being known as a pride flag so closeted people can still use it for a while. The cover story is that it’s the flag of a country called Canbria. I also offer up my comic that which lurks if you need more details for a cover, but just calling it the Canbria flag should be fine for most purposes.
Putting the color meaning, image Id, and some other flag designs under the cut :))
ID: There is a dark blue stripe to the left and a dark green stripe to the right. There is a black stripe down the center with a light yellow circle. End ID
The black stripe represents the fear of being in the closet and how it can be a traumatic experience for many queer people. However the yellow circle represents all the good parts of being in the closet, like the safety not sharing your identity brings. The blue and green represents the global queer community and the fact that even thought the closet may feel alienating, you still are a part of a bigger community that supports you.
Originally the flag had the last colors from the trans and lgbt flags, but the color scheme didn’t work well. i still like the idea however, so i’m including some variations in case anyone prefers them.
this is the last one, which is based on monster inc (idea from my friend @screamingmadvoid ) it’s based around the idea that queer people feel like or identify with monsters a lot of the time, especially if they’re in the closet. it wasn’t the ultimate design because it didn’t have flag vibes, but i did still very much like it. if it was used the cover story would be that it was just monster inc fanart
