Pete's dragon!
clouds
It echoes through my limbs: splintering and fuzzy. In the cavern of my cranium; in the webs of my fingers; in the boulders of my thighs. I feel it in every tendon and ligament. Every hair follicle. Every quark. The instant the pain tips over into numbness. Stuck on the edge. Like clouds that resemble both rabbits and dragons. Heat and fur bubble in my highways, tracing the serpentine lightning of my arteries. And then, suddenly, difference: the calloused slippers of my feet. Pulsing. A new kind of energy. A new kind of breaking. Like roots stretching, pulling themselves apart, to become something new. The weather patterns change, and I am not sure which I miss more: the raincloud or the clear dark sky. I am longing for inertia, the good kind, that tugs on your chest; that shoves you on stage; that makes your mouth open and your feet move before you can think. The kind when you don't worry about everything that could be different: about past and future and the purgatory between. The kind that makes you understand that falling and flying are really one in the same. Where you accept that the cloud is both a rabbit and a dragon.
There was a rubber ducky and a snail in the clouds!
I made some cloud creatures...
Daydreamer
5yo: Mama! Mama! Look at that cloud! It’s in the shape of a fish! Me: Wow! 5yo: Do you know what’s it made out of? Me: What’s that, my love? 5yo: It’s made of daydreaming.
What do you see in the clouds? I see a flying pig.
