Who doesn't love a good clown?

A short thread revisiting a long-dead short comic I made a few years ago. I was looking at some old stuff and decided to redo the character designs of the main trio of the Poppy Posse, Carmen, Tilda May, and Bo.

The guys at the top are from an old comic I worked on back in school, and I recently came across some sketches from their project and decided to revisit them!

Although I think their designs are a little too complicated for a comic now, I still love the way they look. These characters lived in a world where entertainment has become a leading force of the economy and clowning is a highly regarded profession, up there with lawyers and doctors. I never got too far into the story, but the general idea was that these characters were trying to save their ailing troupe in a last ditch effort by competing for a grand prize in Cascanova, THE city of entertainment. They would have to deal with various tribulations, but mainly defend themselves from the numerous and violent clown posses that rule the city and want any future competitors off their turf.

The comic pages under them are from the original story, meant to be a prologue of the city the troupe was stepping foot into; showing another clown who made a deal with the local clown gang and broke it. I never finished the dialogue, but I still think the art was fun! The very last page was from a different part of the story, the intro of the main villain and another style test page.

I might actually revisit some of the old pages and revamp them just to get back into practice with comics, but that might not be for a while. I'm hoping to get moving on a few new projects soon, but progress is slow, so I hope you guys will enjoy this in the meantime!
