Code Walk - Distance
Code Walk - Melt
Track of the day #46 : Code Walk - Distance
Danish electronic music production has gotten us used to a techno music rather formatted, the last EP of the duo Code Walk is a perfect counter-foot. 6 tracks with varied tones and rhythms, affirmed from the opening of the EP and its eponymous track Distance. A hard one, high BPM which can be appraised in the half way, the production full of finesse consists of layers of sounds intermingled with murmured saturated voices, pads of synths, Distance is finally quite atmospheric. I can only advise you the rest of the EP which is at the same level.

Miink’s “Yellow Dust”
For fans of Code Walk, Mura Masa, SG Lewis, Sampha, Smino, Common Tiger, Haulm.
If you’re into a chill, sexy R&B vibes with a male vocalist that can hit some high notes, then check out West London’s newest artist Miink. While he only has two tracks out so far, this guy has a lot of promise. “Yellow Dust” features traditional sounding East Asian instrumentation paired with cold, electronic pulses and beats. The video doubles down on this aesthetic, featuring subtitles, a phone booth that looks like it’s in a Chinese restaurant or massage parlor, and a color story that serves up some interesting hues and temperature. We expect to be seeing more from this guy very soon.
