Still on my Coffee Powder bullshit. Not stopping any time soon.

After a long day of work, the idea of just throwing himself in his bed and refusing to move at all until morning sounds more and more tempting by the second.

That's until he opens his his bedroom's door and sees Dust.

First off, why is he here? Not that Ccino is complaining, but they most definetively don't live together. And he doesn't have a key. How did he even get in?

He's just about to ask, but the last question is quickly answered when the barista glances to the side and sees his window open. Of course.

He sighs and carefully walks over to the bed, then sits down, managing to take a closer look at Dust. He's laying on his side, curled up, and with his face buried on a pillow. He's not... even with his hoodie on.

It's like he wants to hide himself and be seen at the same time.

Ccino shakes his skull to get rid of that thought.

*hey, so uh... what are you doing here?

The other flinches slightly and doesn't respond. His grip on the pillow gets tighter.

*dust, what's going on? can you sign right now?

Dust exhales softly. He nods and barely takes his face off of the pillow, just enough to look at Ccino. His eyelights are dim.

"please don't leave..."

His hands are trembling. There's heavy bags under his eyesockets, at least heavier than normal.

Ccino narrows his inexistent eyebrows at the sight and brings his legs up in the bed, sitting closer.

*okay- okay, i'm not gonna leave.

*...why did you come here anyway?

"nowhere else looked safe."

He feels his SOUL beat a bit differently. Fear? No, that can't be. He's never been afraid of Dust.

*o-oh. okay?

And they stay there, looking at each other and not daring to move an inch.

Seconds.

Minutes.

Maybe an hour or two. Ccino can't really bring himself to look at his phone.

Dust hesitantly reaches out and holds onto the other's sleeve, trying to make sure he's still here. That he's actually real.

*you saw him again, didn't you?

*...

Ccino hears a muffled and broken sound, something supposed to be a positive hum.

"it's always here. he never stops talking."

After a moment of thought, Ccino decides to just lay down next to Dust. Proximity usually helps him, right? Yeah, it's just because of that. Dust almost immediately wraps his arms around Ccino, burying his face on the other's chest. His hold on Ccino's sweater is a bit too strong. A bit too desperate.

He doesn't even remember when he falls asleep, nor what he dreams about.

But in the next day, Ccino wakes up completely alone.

There's tear stains on his sweater.

Something about Dust & Ccino and both coming from a geno timeline yet how vastly different the results of it was for both of them. How of everything they could have shared, could have been similar? It was that. That pain. That grappling with loss, with being the remainder. The pain and the memories? Juicy hehe ^^

I think the worst part of all this is that Ccino seems to have moved on, while Murder is still there: living those very recent memories, feeling bitter about his choices

Even though they both survived the genocidal route, they both still had completely different choices and actions... and Ccino's brother is still alive (and that's something that hurts Murder even more)

I think a good shipname for the Ccino x Dust ship could be: CoffeePowder.

That's because, before the coffee is made, it is, well...COFFEE POWDER-

And powder is an equivalent to dust.

And well, about the ship itself, I think it would work.

I imagine Ccino becoming Dust's new Grillby, right?

He had to kill many monsters and evacuate most of them, probably Grillby too.

I imagine Dust going there wanting to have coffee to try to forget about his problems, because possibly, outside of his timeline, he must feel like a piece of shit for having committed genocide, including killing his own brother.

I think if Dust were to vent to Ccino about that, he would try to support him, even though he might be a little scared of Dust.

He would help him with his mental health, try to get him to ignore his hallucinations and also do as much as possible to make him move on.

Would it be difficult? Yes, but, as Papyrus would say, he would still believe that Dust would become a better person.

And, with all this, Dust would end up falling in love with Ccino :D
